CNN reporting Rep. Pat Kennedy in auto accident - insinuating he was drunk
Get ready for the massive tsunami of press coverage of the accident Kennedy allegedly was involved in last night at 3:00 a.m.

It is going to be ugly! The press will hound him and the Capitol police for details on the alcohol to the nth degree. Contrast this upcoming circus with the alcohol related Cheney shooting. I will venture to guess that the coverage of this incident will be ginned up to dwarf the Cheney incident.

1. Just heard that. I'm so glad he didn't get hurt!
One source said no alcohol was involved, another claimed his car was weaving. I'd love to know specifically who that second source is.:eyes:

9 News has learned U.S. Capitol police officers are concerned about the handling of an accident involving Congressman Patrick Kennedy (D-Rhode Island) about 3 a.m. this morning.

Rep. Kennedy was reportedly behind the wheel of a green Ford Mustang when it crashed into a security barrier at 1st and "C" streets Southeast.

There are no reports of injuries. A Boston TV station is reporting Kennedy told officers he was late for a vote. We are told police drove him home after conferring with higher-ups in the department. So far, Kennedy HAS NOT been charged. A spokesman for his office told CNN that alcohol was NOT involved.

The head of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 1, Lou Cannon, told 9 News that he’s concerned that Kennedy may have received special treatment and this could be a case where “rank has its privilege.”

21. Well, shooting a man in the face is nothing compared to crashing your car
Just ask Laura Bush.

Laura Bush killed her ex-boyfriend with her car and walked away without so much as a ticket for running the stop sign.

Laura Bush has killed more people than Zacharias Mossoui and Charles Manson combined!

Anyway, maybe Kennedy was trying to run-over a quail. But I think he's just being persecuted because he's Christian.

some info re what was being reported might be of interest.

It sounds like there was not sobriety test but what I posted is how the cops described him.

Sorry, if there are there rules for replying to your posts I guess I didn't get them.

I was just passing on more "info" being reported.

If he was DWI, wouldn't he have been arrested?

Also, the House was in session until midnight last night according to Blitzer. Couldn't he have been working afterwards in his office? And even if he wasn't..it isn't anyone's biz.

If old "go fuck yourself (Vice) President Cheney can shoot a man in the face and not have to be interviewed about it by local authorities until the next day, it's the height of hypocritical for our Corporate Press to feast on this story.

If he told the cops he was late for a vote at 3:00 in the morning, that's far more consistent with somnambulism than with inebriation. And Ambien users have been found to drive in their sleep.
