I didn't see this information.

Did he say that there would be an announcement today, specifically, or did he say it in a more general way, like there would be an announcement on a Thursday about a press conference on the following Friday, meaning, it could be this Thursday, next Th. etc., but the announcement would come on a Th. and the press conference would be the next day (Friday), but not necessarily and specifically today and tomorrow.

at "clearing up" information than other information they feed Leopold.

We might just blame Leopold's sources, but I think we must ask what this says about Leopold's interest or ability in serving as a filter on the "iffy" things his sources give him. I think it also begs the editors of the publications for whom he's working to ask themselves just how "iffy" they want stories on their site to get.

It also suggests that DU'ers should consider if they need to be a bit more circumspect about accepting "facts" from Leopold's sources.

It seems unlikely Fitzgerald's office would announce something after the close of business hours.

But if Fitzgerald comes out before midnight and announces a press conference for tommorow it could still vindicate the prediction that Leopold shared.

Sometimes reporting is not just a matter of opinion. Sometimes it can be validated, or not.

I don't see that the Judge's order in the Libby case, which I believe was to have Fitzgerald provide a specific list of evidence he's going to use against Libby, would in anyway impinge on the predictions stated in #6. Particularly if all the other stuff in the "clearing up" was true.

Based on his reponses Fitzgerald is obviously intimately familiar with his case against Libby. It shouldn't take days to put together the list or to make an argument against providing it.

Leopold was clearly upset that people challenged him. Enough that he tried to clear things up. Maybe you could enlighten me as to why Leopold wouldn't update his clearing up if in the midst of defending against challenges to his credibility the judge had undermined the chance for one of his predictions to come true.

My wife and I were putting together an answer to Will Pitt's charge that he would bet everything in his wallet that the Target Letter on or before April 26th was True. Since gas Prices are the way they are I'm willing to bet there isn't much in there.. and Leopold has made that charge TWICE since then, once in an update on Truthout, where he posted an article with the Target Letter as "GIVEN" IN the article, a known fact, which has not been reported by ANYONE else. And again on the radio Interview posted HERE, and presumably broadcasted widely.

But WE are still willing to make that bet, and if Will shows up around here again will bet a THOUSAND DOLLARS (and that's a thousand dollars to be DONATED TO THE DU BY THE LOSING PARTY, with the "proof" of a target letter, and not some 'warning', that it was a Legal Target Letter, let Firedoglake make that distinction since they are PROSECUTORS there), that there was NO TARGET LETTER as legally defined in any code Fitz will use in this case ON or ABOUT April 26th as Leopold said. If what Will says is true, that it's CONCRETE, then this is a sucker bet for him, us being the suckers, and who makes out here? THE DU DOES, they get a THOUSAND BUCKS to keep this place running, so we can DEBATE these important issues.

If the Target letter is proven to exist within those parameters when we'll gladly send the DU a thousand bucks, AND apologise Publicly to Jason Leopold for THAT ISSUE. But not for these, his radio address is once again, pure sensationalism, aimed at those so hopeful that they will suspend disbelief, and that's JUST SAD.

WE feel that Strongly about the Left be RIGHT in it's journalistic efforts, so that we are not Dismissed by the media, and instead FORCE the media to change THEIR ways.

Takebackthemedia.com was forcing sites like CNN to PUT BACK information into their articles (like the 750 words they left out of a Hans Blix report, ON WMD LONG before the war started), and the success was phenomenal, THIS is what we need to do, and THIS will MAKE NEWS and send shock waves through the media, but we can't do that with third hand information that's like a broken speaker.

We don't want to look like something you read at a supermarket checkout line, tho at this point THOSE publications make sure their sources are positive before they go to press.

Sure we all want to see ROve go to JAIL, but the recipe for that needs to tbe spotless, if Fitz practiced law the same way that Leopold is reporting from his sources then Rove and Libby would have walked a long time ago.

So now I can say, "Here we go again.." as the merciless attack against those who argue that someone should not be WRONG on this important case start using everything in their power to make a thread go away, all the way to someone accusing ME of CYBERSTALKING SOMEONE ELSE ON MY OWN THREAD - now THAT was hilarious. I watched all the crowing the other day about how great and how much like Hersch this guy was, and according to what he said on the radio, as paraphrased he did'nt get a single thing right, did he?

Standard procedure, If someone is NEARLY correct then three cheers for the conquering hero (and man, do a lot of people need Heroes these days), but if he's WRONG, then threads drop like a ROCK.

That's one thousand dollars paid by the loser to the DU according to the CODES and Fitz's lawful actions on or before April 26th. Is Will still here? I'd like to see what's in his wallet as he agreed.

And if Leopold's "source" never knows what's really coming up on the docket then he needs to get a new one, or NOT say anything that isn't already TRUE. The concept of a SCOOP is getting TRUE information BEFORE anyone else, NOT making grand guesses or using IFFY info and hoping it works out.
