My e-mail to the WP 'journalist' that thought Colbert bullied Bush |
|
"But in this country, anyone can insult the president of the United States. Colbert just did it, and he will not suffer any consequence at all. He knew that going in. He also knew that Bush would have to sit there and pretend to laugh at Colbert's lame and insulting jokes. Bush himself plays off his reputation as a dunce and his penchant for mangling English. Self-mockery can be funny. Mockery that is insulting is not. The sort of stuff that would get you punched in a bar can be said on a dais with impunity. This is why Colbert was more than rude. He was a bully."
No, my friend. I will tell you who is the bully. The bully is the man who lied to America, throwing around 9/11 & Iraq in the same breath (so often that at one point nearly 3/4th of then nation believed that there was an actual connection)! The bully was the one who claimed (LIED) that invading Iraq was key to our national security, when in actuality this farse of a war has destabilized the Middle East & created a army of new terrorist recruits. The bully is the one that ordered a war that did NOT need to be fought. A war that has resulted in the deaths of tens of thousands of innocent people. Bush deliberately capitalized on the fears of a vulnerable, just attacked American populace to bring us into a war that he was planning from the moment he took office. And, he KNOWINGLY used HIGHLY QUESTIONABLE OR COMPLETELY DISCREDITED INTELLIGENCE to do it.
That is the sort of stuff, that in the OLD America, would get you impeached & tried for treason. That is why Bush is more then a bully. He is a treasonous President responsible for the murder of innocent people.
It is SICK that we have to turn to a friggin comedian to point the naked emperor who has DISGRACED this nation.
I do agree with you on ONE thing. Mockery that is insulting is not funny.
No weapons of mass destuction over here! Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
Nope, none under here either. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha
(Cue in the background laughter of the press corps just roaring with laughter)
No, mockery that is insulting is not funny at all.
Mockery that exposes a mean, dishonet, treasonous man is funny. But, not funny ha-ha. Funny, in a sad, ironic, tragic kind of way. The kind of irony of a nation that needs a comedian to deliver the truth.

2. Cohen is a columnist. An editorialist. He writes an op-ed. |
|
He also lives in an ivory tower while sniping at folks who try to fight these thugs. Even though he calls himself a liberal.

And the comparisons keep coming with this, don't they? It relates very easily to the great stories of our culture.
It's just amazing, what he did. The RIPPLES.
He really did- he took his tiny *sling* and slammed them dead between the eyes.

15. Wonderful job, Deb! Very proud of you. |
|
I find it interesting to contemplate how the "journalists" who ripped Colbert for his routine skewering Bu$h will be squirming just like His Pissiness did that night as he listened to the truth he so rarely hears....
Eventually, long after the most offensive pResident this country has ever had to put up with is gone from the scene and even out of our minds (thank heaven for such a day), there will be some sort of consensus of public opinion that Colbert was right on the money. That's what I honestly believe ... and I hope I live to see the day!

:applause: :woohoo: :applause: :woohoo:
Your e-mail to Mr. Cohen is outstanding.
I wish just one of the corporate media outlets would have the guts to replay Chimpy's "performance" from March, 2004..
I know it'll never happen, but I have no doubt that many Americans would flood the White House with phone calls, faxes and e-mails.
I'm going to e-mail Mr. Cohen myself, but it won't be half as good as yours was.
