Forbes: Fidel Castro worth $900 million
Edited on Thu May-04-06 07:58 PM by corporate_mike
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Cuban President Fidel Castro was furious when Forbes magazine estimated his fortune at $550 million last year. This year, the magazine upped its estimate of the communist leader's wealth to a cool $900 million.

Castro, who says his net worth is nil, is likely the beneficiary of up to $900 million, based on his control of state-owned companies, the U.S. financial magazine said in its annual tally of "Kings, Queens & Dictators" fortunes on Thursday.

1. So when he retires, he'll have it made
I'm sure he and Nelson Mandela will hold a big bash.

2. Can you really say the state-owned enterprises are his personally though?
They work for the nation and people...

5. Of course not
But he's a dirty commie, so the rules of logic don't apply.

Maybe we need to blow up more passenger planes, or bomb more crops to make him wise up.

7. It's a fucking ridiculous notion.
Though of course most who see it and know little of Cuba and less of Castro won't see that.

6. Forbes should work for the Bush Imperial Ministry of Truth
He just keeps throwing this half-truth out there year after year.

Does Bush's net wealth include the US nuclear arsenal? It makes about as much sense to say that as to claims that Cuba's national assets are Castro's private property.

It doesn't matter what one thinks of Castro. This report is just crap.
