I just read auntie pinko
And It got me thinking...

Why are we "members" of a civilization in the first place?

Civilization minimizes risk by sharing it.It also could maximize standards of living IF the fruits of civilization didn't get stolen or skimmed off by the greedy already wealthy predatory parasites.. of our civilization like the"investor" class at the 'top'.

If all our work, loyalty, efforts etc. are just pocketed by a very few who live very very well at the expense of civilization itself, why do we play by thier'rules"?

Look at it like this:

In the wild we would be on our own,
in winter we would freeze.

Well if you can't afford to buy heat this winter, you will not be much better off than a cave man was,in fact it might be worse, you can't build a fire in an apartment, but you can freeze it one.

In the wild we would be on our own,so if we needed health care we would be shit out of luck, just never get sick . In the wilds if you got sick you'd eat some plants,if you believe in a god you might pray to it ,or rely on some remedy you or some old person in the family knew and hoped it worked.

Hm mm That sounds just like the state of health care for alot of Americans.Wonder why are herbs, homeopathy, healing touch and QiGong and other pre scientific "treatments" so popular now? It isn't just the"age of aquarius" people,It's because real medical care is not available to most of us anymore.

In the wild we would be on our own if a hurricane mowed down the hut we made well we'd just have to run real fast.Nobody would be airlifting us off bits of flotsam in the wrathful waves, nobody would be dropping bottles of water. We'd all just die.

Wait a minute, that sounds like what happened at the Super-dome during Hurricane Katrina.

In the wild we would be on our own, if we needed food we'd have to grow it,or forage for it or if we had no character steal it from other cave people

Hmm,when you look at this from the perspective of poor people in a dilemma of choosing either medicine they can't afford..between cancer treatments, rent, oil, electric they can't afford...The idea of stealing a steak from the supermarket,a loaf of bread from a 'convenience store,or even begging for food looks like a way to survive from this perspective.

In the wild we would be on our own,if a rival band of cave thugs came into our little cave and raped and pillaged and beat us up..who would be there? HM we had better be strong or run fast.

thinking on it,with the corrupted justice system that will put someone away for ten years or more for smoking a bit of pot..While they let thieves, gang members and rapists out of prison much quicker...It almost feels like we are living among hostile vicious rival cave man bands.

It's like living under siege when residents of city neighborhoods cannot sit on their own stoop lest they get in the crossfire between thugs, they can't relax or be safe, the cops don't care...It's just like being in the wild...except in the republican world, you are seen as somehow less worthy of consideration, if you are not christian,'conservative',straight, rich and white. It's insult on top of insults.
The"conservative" thugs are who dominate the cave complex called america ,they will raid your nest eggs or whatever meager stuff you manage to use to insulate from the harshness of this world, they use your lives for maintaining their own wealth, comfort and hegemony, they use your time and labor until you have no time to live your life and you have no money to make working worthwhile really ..they use people up.. they are not bloody in tooth and claw like nature, they do the same thing to people as "nature" does..but they use you, yourself, against yourself.. to do their bloody business for them, and they turn a profit from your misery and your 'loyalty' as well..

In some ways it is WORSE than being in the wilds.

1. Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes said it best-
"With taxes I buy civilization."

2. I think BushCo and the Fundywackos are anti-civilization
Maybe the Fundywackos think that the country will revolve around them and that everyone else will get up and leave or something - I think they are sadly mistaken.

Your journal sidebar has some interesting points about that - the "kakistocracy".
