The president acknowledged that opinions in the country are split on his decision to invade Iraq.

``I can understand folks who say I wish you hadn't done that,'' he said. ``Now that we are there, in my humble opinion, we have got to succeed.''

1. bush doesn't understand squat.
We don't say, "I wish you hadn't done that." We say, "You should pay for what you've done."

Humble? *snort!*

3. imho bush a lifetime failure will never be able to succeed because
he has never been successful in his life, so how long do we allow failure to continue, is my question.

7. That was my argument in 1999...
For a Democratic fundraiser I did "Bush's Resume", a breakdown of Bush from his college "education", his short stint/AWOL in the Texas Air National Guard, his first defunct company, his second, and his third (and the little stock scandal that he and Cheney orchestrated). Ending with his documented horrific environmental and education record in Texas.

Everyone thought it was great stand-up comedy and I was invited to do it another larger venue where it got a standing ovation.

The thing is, it was all true and though I put commentary in there, It was pretty much straight. That's how pathetic his resume is.

8. and continues to be. i talk to my business repug father and brother
i tell them, you look at this mans resume of failure, you would never hire him. you look at his 5 years in office of failure, his butt would be fired. looking at this simply from a business perspective, you have no reason to vote for this man.

they truly have no argument. this one makes them stop and reflect more than anything i have said and i have said plenty

9. Have you mentioned the tax breaks to your dad's huge competitor?
Unless your dad owns a massive global conglomerate or makes more than $175,000 a year, there's no reason he should even consider Bush.

10. father is a clever business man. i am sure he is seeing what is
happening. i know he does. just hard to admit it. seeing it with both father and brother. father owns 7 small business, deals with health insurance, taxes.... and has run big corporate business in the past. i have a good three more years for him to own it and say it out loud. am confident he will. just havent messed with him last 6 month, giving him a break. though, i did let him know a mutual friend, 54 year old trusteee male texas repug we know called husband over to say i was right and he was wrong.

my husband owns his own business too, he picked up on it, watched the screwing of the small business and voted kerry

12. There are a lot of republicans that are realizing...
that who is currently in power is niether conservative nor republican.

I long for the days of looking at a candidate for issues and integrity was what the average American did no matter what party they were in. Sure there were a lot of people who voted repub or dem across the board in the past, but not like they do today. The divisions are clearly divided between Urban and Rural. I remember in 2004 a friend of mine in Michigan who had to tell her friends and family that she voted repub so that they would still talk to her. Sad.

world. and religions the last five years. as much the religions have done it. to use their faith like that, just disgusting. i have been thinking about that and how sad it is. i dont sit in either camp, repug or dem. but i see many many making excuses and justifying bush behavior they would have never condoned a mere decade ago. and for them to do it with a straight face takes me to a fit of giggles. i do ask, arent you tired of making excuses for this man, your party?

5. "Now that we are there" yeah, we are there due to your lies
And when a war is based on lies we have no obligation to stay and see more people killed.

6. he's never had a humble opinion since he entered the wh-
now he is trying to play down his arrogance. Guess the PR folks told him strutting around like a cock wasn't cutting the mustard any longer.

OH, that he truly did understand 'folks' who say "I wish you hadn't done that"-
But HE did- and thousands upon thousands died.

What would success mean?????
