Today Show is All GOP Happy Talk This AM!
Edited on Fri May-05-06 09:46 AM by stopbush
1. Kennedy auto accident. Russert (Potato Boy) opines this will help Rs fight the corruption charges?!

2. Economy! - Bartarollo sez 100,000 new jobs created. "It's less than expected, but still, it's created jobs,
not lost jobs." Really? Do they subtract the lost jobs/jobless claims from a given month from the jobs
created figure? I don't know, I'm asking.

Maria also reports "oil prices have come down, and that *should* lower prices at the pump."
then, she says, "as gasoline prices continue to rise."

3. Consumer spending is up! Maria sez, "of course, if gas prices continue to rise, that will cut into consumer spending."
Let's hear it for the credit card economy! And how about Maria basically saying that high gas prices don't help the
overall economy (are gas prices not included in consumer spending figures?).

4. Injured horse trainer has shot at winning Kentucky Derby. Let's all get choked up!

There's more, but I've gotta go.

On edit:

5. Ray McGovern described as "a long-retired CIA analyst and longtime critic of president *."
I get it. Nothing to see or hear here. Old news from an out-of-the-loop partisan.

4. Memo from Rove!
With the complete collapse of this administration a serious possibility these days, how else can anyone justify this type of "reporting"??
The PR machine is obviously in full swing. Let's hope the forces of justice prevail and the "brain" is forever silenced.

6. I know what ya mean. The only thing I watch on cable is c-span
and Keith Olbermann on MSNBC. It is all so disheartening and depressing to watch all of the fake news.

8. We need 150,000 new jobs/month to keep pace with population
So how is 100,000 "still creating jobs?" In fact, doesn't it really mean another 50,000 people still couldn't find jobs? Just sayin.

9. On McGovern. I heard the second 1/2 hour reading on this. Travesty!
Ann Curry read that a man confronted Rumsfeld, asking Rumself why he lied. Ann then when on to say, Rumsefeld said he didn't lie. End of the newbit on this.
