Photo Of The Day! Teddy Kennedy ROCKS!

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman, Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., leaves the hearing room for the midday recess in the confirmation hearing of Supreme Court nominee, Judge Samuel Alito, on Capitol Hill in Washington Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, following a tense exchange with Sen. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass. Tensions rose as Kennedy demanded the committee vote on whether to subpoena for records of Concerned Alumni of Princeton, a club of which Alito was a member. You all can rate it up here....

1. He's showing his age, but I tell you ...
... that's a face I could look at for the rest of my life if it belonged to someone I love.

And I loves me some Ted Kennedy. Damn, he is sharp!

6. Ted Kennedy
has all my respect. He'll never be more than a senator, of course, but I do think that he'll be a democrat remembered a long time from now. Kudos.

10. I think he is maximally effective as a Senator, doesn't need to be Pres.
**, on the other hand, was maximally effective as a drunken fratboy. (That's why he's still at it.)

12. He couldn't become President
due of his personal history. He knows that plenty well.

13. I know, I've lived through my share of Dem primaries.
Just saying that the measure of a pol's success shouldn't be whether he got to be Pres (winner!) or not (loser!). Our history has been profoundly shaped by Congressmen who stood up and fought for the important issues. Besides, you can only be Pres for 8 years -- and a lot of our ex-Pres's have been spent shells. I'd rather see Kennedy keep plugging away until he's ready to retire.

11. I think a lot about Ted Kennedy...
He was in line for the Presidency-that ended at the bridge. He could have gone in many directions once he was acquitted. He chose to sober up and straighten his life out as best we humans can. He chose to use his power and resources to speak out and speak up for those that cannot speak for themselves. He is a champion of the mentally ill, the poor, children, immigrants. I would venture to say he has had a greater impact as the Senior Senator from Massachusetts than he ever would have as a president. I think in some way (the Catholic guilt thing) he tries to atone for his actions in his wilder days. I think of him as the last of a dieing breed, wealthy that truly understand and practice noblesse oblige. My fav 'fly on the wall moments' are when he interacts with the mentally retarded. They are the most genuine. I wish him many more years. We have too many small leaders on the hill (think small, act small). That is why he stands out so much now.

14. I feel the same about him.
Senator Kennedy has suffered a lot in life -some of it was self-inflicted- but much of it was simply an accident of birth...being a Kennedy and all that implies. His life experience has given him a very genuine empathy for humanity. He, unlike the sort of Republicans we see today, does not wear a self-designed golden crown of 'uber morality'. His good works are what he's become and I admire him very much for that.

Specter, author of the "magic bullet theory," is a cover-up artist.

Which bullet is ALLEGED to have caused
seven wounds in two men and was later
found on the wrong stretcher at Parkland Memorial Hospital?

EDIT: Misspelled Arlen's name. Must have been a "SPECTRE" at his shoulder.

30. I wonder if Specter can look Kennedy in the eye?
BTW it's exhibit #399 - the magic bullet that went through two adult males, smashing bones, until it was found on an empty stretcher at Parland Hospital in near pristine condition.

33. I hadn't thought about this aspect
but, I'll bet there is no love lost between Kennedy and Specter under any circumstances, so, today's event might have had some undertone of this mutual dislike.

In any event, Kennedy was amazing!

I like the way he backed Specter into a corner and finally woke him up.

If ya read this in time make sure you watch Jon Stewart tonight.

Absolutely our best freind in this country. Nobody has stuck up for our rights and principles more than Ted Kennedy.
Hes one of my personal heroes. He deserves more credit than we give him.

32. This Is Why They Despise Him
Good... we'll rally around him more! See... they know the difference between this MAN and their pathetic dipshit, and it really hurts their frail egos to be reminded of how morally inferior they are.
