9. Why don't I lighten up, Francis?
Edited on Wed Jan-11-06 05:56 PM by Neil Lisst
I've amended my title and deleted this, since it's obvious I misconstrued.

I was reacting to things I saw on other threads, which had me ramped up.

Either that, or maybe I'll use the Twinkie defense.

5. She looks like she's got JUDGE'S WIFE SYNDROME.
Edited on Wed Jan-11-06 05:21 PM by Neil Lisst
In case you don't know it, among male judges, the wives often take on the status of their husband. Everywhere judges go, they have lawyers and others kissing the butts. It's embarrassing to see grown men and women acting like groupies when a judge is at a party. And many times, the wife practically wears her husband's robes and thinks she's a co-judge, at least among her social set. I would liken it to the status of military officers' wives among their social set.

It's not as big a problem for female judges with husbands, probably because the social dynamic is different.

Anyway, she has the look of a judicial snob, very common among the conservatie elite.

6. If these folks can't handle a confirmation hearing
then they certainly can't handle the spotlight of a Supreme Court Justice.

Boo-hoo. Give me a break.

8. was that the question that made her run out?
if so, I can understand why she was so offended. I mean, how could they ask that question, of course they're not bigots they have a black housekeeper and hispanic gardner and sometimes the little jewish children from down the street come to play with their children. Thats gotta prove they're not bigots right? :sarcasm:
