RUSSERT: NEGROPONTE WILL PICK NEW CIA HEAD
Edited on Fri May-05-06 01:57 PM by DeepModem Mom
WH sources. Negroponte and Bolten have been talking to Goss for weeks. Goss has made the changes, and a "healer" (Russert's word) now needs to come in. This person will be handpicked by Negroponte, and will be announced early next week.

ON EDIT: MSNBC reporting turmoil in Negroponte-Goss relationship. It was Negroponte who asked for Goss to go.

3. Oh, wonderful
That's roughly akin to having the inmates select the new locks.

Ah, well, why would we expect anything different from these tools?

Why isn't Cheney here, picking someone?

Oh, he already told Biden and Negroponte (watch him) who to pick.

Oh.

OK.

I'll bet it's Mary's partner.

6. Negroponte a healer?
That's like saying to send in the shark in "Jaws" because there are too many swimmers on the beach.

9. Negroponte can just pick someone
from the health club where he spends 3 hours a day.

Helluva job, Gossie!

7. Healer? That's a very out-of-character word to use in connection
with Republicans. They are pompous 'arrogants'. There is no humility in their blood.

12. Another Fox News employee?
Or maybe...aw, christ, I can't even think of anything that would be a decent parody. This whole fucking administration has become a parody of a real government.

15. I don't believe it for a second. Goss wasn't on anyone's radar
to go. Not one squeak in the media about it. No one in the media had a clue who was going until Bush made the announcement. I think that this is sudden and the fact that there is not one word about why tells me that it's something serious that the Administration doesn't want out there, but are afraid will come back and bite them if they offer up a lie.

17. How close is Sadaam's trial to being over?
He'd make a super nifty CIA Director. After all, he was running circles around the Agency for the better part of twenty years, so he knows the ropes. And he has the temperment.
