Maybe it goes against the grain, but with everything that has happened over the last five years, I'll be cheesed off if it requires a poker game and perhaps some extra-cirricular sex to get the attention of the public and media.

Jeeze, as a nation we sleepwalk through the Iraq Misadventure, the Downing St. memos, illegal spying on Americans, torture, gutting of the environment, the eviscerating of the working class, the selling out to Multinational corporations, Enronomics, Plamegate, the opportunistic religious polarization, questions about voting, the complete corruption of politics...... etc. etc. etc.

If sex and poker are what is required to bring about change, then we're in worse shape than I thought.

1. I won't.
Because once the public is in an uproar they'll be ready to hear about all the rest.

If this is what it takes to reach the tipping point then I'll smile through every minute of the coverage.

10. Agreed. It's infuriating to think that all the other things mentioned,
which are more important, went largely ignored by the MSM and the public at large, yet a slimy sex scandal brings the mighty Republican ship down.

As said, I'll take anything that finally opens the door to Pandora's Box, because once that door has been forced open, the American people will want to hear it ALL -- EVERY BIT OF IT -- EVERY NASTY, DIRTY, SLIMY DETAIL of the Bush Administration and the Republican-led Congress.

When the mighty fall, they fall hard!

2. sex bad, violence ok.
in other recent news, medical examiner says Fla teen at boot camp was suffocated. Now, back to sex (I know, it goes beyond sex, but that is the hook. So to speak).

3. Agreed
But you can always count on the holier-than-thou Republicans for a juicy sex scandal.

If I had to pick I'd want voting machines at the front and center of the debate at all times until that mess is straightened out. Because without verified voting, these warmongers will manage to remain in control.

4. Two words: Monica Lewinsky
No matter what the republicans threw at Clinton, it was Monica that got the impeachment charges brought.

Hate to break it to you, Armstead, but I hope this is the straw that breaks Bush's back.

5. It's not just a sex scandal.
This has everything to do with defense contracts and if intelligence stuff is involved, it has to do with our entire foreign policy.

Just like in the spy novels, sex is what undoes them, but sex isn't the main story.

I share your dismay that it takes sex to get people (corporate media) to pay attention.

11. Exactly correct.
Hookers are just the opener.

The main act is Rampant Corruption and Contractor Bribes.

The perfect intro to get Americans to talk about the same kind of thing going on in Iraq.

I'm not happy about it, but I'll take a HookerGate over a NothingGate.

7. Think of it like this ....
67% of Americans think the country is on the wrong track and disapprove of the Chimperor.

The other 33% that have been hanging in there are the same 33% that wanted Clinton impeached for a blow-job. The sex and bribery scandals now known as Watergate II will work on the ones who have seen the Republicans as paragons of virtue and fidelity. This is bad for them.

9. It's not the hookers that is the story.
It is the corruption, the bribes, the defense contractor kickbacks.

With repubs, it always comes down to money. Any sex in just incidental.

Repubs = money.
Dems = sex.

That's Scandals 101.

13. They impeached Clinton for lying about a BJ. >Hookers is fine with me
hookers are great, but not when congressmen and senators lie about it, that's the ticket!

14. Amen. By any means necessary.
They had to look for YEARS to find something on Clinton.

This shit is falling from the sky, now. It's a drip, drip, drip. Death of a thousand cuts. Here is one more.

Works for me, short of impeachment.
