1. And yet billions are being spent weekly for this war?
You have to wonder exactly where all this money is going...sick bunch and even sicker bunch here in the states that continue to support these liars and murderers.

6. I spellchecked but didn't read for clarity. Sorry. I am pissed
about this.

These soldiers need to be bright and alert every minute.

19. No, the post said the opposite:
"...her son in Iraq. getting fed three meals a day, and are losing weigh, some up to 10 lbs a week."

5. I speak with my Son
frequently, he has not said that, but only the food is terrible... I will ask him what he has heard or seen next time I talk to him.... I heard the soldiers were begging for food, I though it was some wacko statement..

8. Isn't Helliburton supplying food for the troops?
It can't be inadequate then, I'm sure there are plenty of checks and balances to make sure our troops are well-nourished.

:sarcasm: (for the sarcasm impaired among us).

13. I am not sure, I will ask if he knows
They keep them busy... They work hard six days a week.. They average 60-65 hours a week... Best to keep them busy, cause they have absolutely nothing to do.

7. It depends where you are how the food is
Some places have good line cooks, others suck. You can usually get cereal and bug juice at breakfast, when all else fails.

On top of everything else, as the weather gets hotter, you'll see a lot of dehydration, especially with people going there for the first time.

9. Sounds like haliburton
is doing a great job. If these sons o bitches were more concerned about the troops than stealing, maybe they'de eat better.

10. My brother was over there on an air force base
and he had to put the troops reporting to him on diets they were eating so well. Right before a big offensive, the camp would fill up and the chow lines would be very long, but the food was great--lobster once a week, steak, etc. They also had an ice cream bar, all you could eat, of some exclusive brand of ice cream. In addition, the base had a national brand pizza parlor, coffee shop, and other fast foods that the soldiers could pay for.

However, when I was doing booksforsoldiers.com, the soldiers in the field were always asking for Ramen noodles, canned chili, etc. and many (and this was a couple of years ago now) said that they were lucky if they got one meal a day!

The ones who are suffering are the soldiers who are in small, unprotected camps, those at most risk for being shot or blown up as they patrol. These are mostly Marines as the Army took Northern Iraq where the kurds are so everything is fine up there and we don;t hear of any soldiers being killed or wounded.

14. The ones they can't get the supplies to.
The ones on patrol, involved with the actual combat, etc are the worst hit for sure.....

15. The Airforce and the Navy always had the best food.
Our base was at the end of the supply line. The food really sucked the big one. For three months all we had for supper was liverwurst. No bread, no nothing.

I would eat downtown or at the enlisted men's club.

No armour, sewage water for showers, and now this. Why doesn't this make the news. Murtha needs to here about this.

17. I heard on Majority Report last night that our troops beg for food from
IRAQI citizens! Is that SHAMEFUL or what? Some troops get only ONE MEAL A DAY and are starving to death, so they end up begging for food from the people of Iraq.
