8. I might've gotten the quote wrong, but he's a big OxyRush fan:
From Wikipedia:

In a December 2004 interview with C-Span's Brian Lamb, Williams proclaimed that he is a longtime listener of The Rush Limbaugh Show : "I do listen to Rush. I listen to it from a radio in my office, or depending on my day, if I'm in the car, I will listen to Rush. And he will tell you I've been listening for years. I think it's my duty to listen to Rush. I think Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due, because his audience for so many years felt they were in the wilderness of this country. No one was talking to them."

3. Local news (WYFF-TV NBC affiliate) just opened with Kennedy.
There is a severe thunderstorm raging outside and they opened the news with the Kennedy story. Not one word about the weather. And get this .. the background video was of Ted Kennedy speaking in the Senate! That was done on purpose, IMHO, to get the Bubbas riled up.

4. I'm not surprised
I suspect Kennedy will lead off Entertainment Tonight, Hard Copy, and Inside Edition, too.

The media know what will make the lemmings come and sit 'round the old TV. It ain't going to be a boring story about the CIA chief resigning, and the implications and reasons thereof behind it. Nobody could give a shit about that. But another Kennedy admitting a substance abuse problem? Well, there's your lead right there. People are attracted to the Kennedys and their issues like they are attracted to car wrecks. And the entertainment-driven news media know what sells. And again, it ain't Porter Goss.

Sensationalism -- not facts, not importance -- rules the news. Our attention span, according to the media, can't handle anything more than gossip.

Thoroughly disgusted with all kinds of journalism these days.

5. Priorities.
Thank gods NBC sets them for us, 'cause most of us might not have set them that way.

7. They are really going out of their way to push the "he butted heads
with Negroponte" as the reason for leaving. That Goss was upset that Negroponte was appointed his boss. What a load of shit.

How many times has Rumsfeld claimed to have offered BushCo his resignation and it was refused? So, why did * accept Porter's resignation?
