MEDIA VULTURES OUTRAGED OVER KENNEDY BUT IGNORE 5 MORE U.S. DEAD IN IRAQ |
|
Edited on Fri May-05-06 05:32 PM by BigBearJohn
With all the noise and fervor being created on all media channels about Kennedy, you would think that he shot somebody. The president lies us into war, gets thousands of our youth killed, spies on us, and his staff outs a CIA operative that places our country in danger, and you hardly hear about it.
JUST IN: 5 more U.S. soldiers die in Iraq -- this should be yelled out to the hills -- but NO -- all we hear about is Kennedy getting a free ride from Washington police. (excuse me while I go throw up)
How do they sleep at night? (shaking my head in utter disgust)

1. Different set of rules for the Right, my friend. |

Whoring, Drinking, Lying, Mass Murder, Drug Abuse... None of those are problems for the Right.
But let one of us take a drunk driving rap or get a blowjob from a cute intern, and it is a Constitutional Crisis.

7. The "real" reason why Patrick Kennedy is "big news": |
|
This is republican/media payback for Rush's plea agreement from last week. Imagine, not only a democrat, but a Kennedy to boot. This is fodder for them as far as saying, "See? To you, it's a big deal when Rush has a prescription drug problem, and not when it's one of your boys." (Never mind about Rush using illegal means to get his)
This was like a gift during a bad week for the pukes and they're reveling in it. So, I'm not surprised at all.

BJ's, car accidents and drinking while impaired or whatever is sooo much more newsworthy.
Kennedy: A man of integrity to admit his human error before those cameras.
When is the last time any of us witnessed that one from the G.O.P.?

But the difference between the republican controlled media and the republican controlled congress is - the media doesnt give a shit about the fact that they're corrupt.
And I bet they sleep like fucking babies at night.

The line producers on all the channels are trying to maximize viewership. They are striving to find and report stories that interest viewers in order to attract them to their channel. That is their job. If the ratings are good, they sleep just fine.
You think there is something wrong with that? It is very democratic. Television journalism is a business.

Edited on Fri May-05-06 06:03 PM by BigBearJohn
There is enough shit to be dug up on this administration to fill their news coffers for a lifetime. But they won't cover it. If the press really reported on the atrocities committed by this administration, people would watch.

there be no time for commercials, no need for them, no interest in that crap.... the true news would trigger the roundup of the punks running the present political/economic show, especially the pigmedia criminals...like michael moore said in 'the big one' if profits were the main motive for the biz world, then general motors would be selling crack....

General Motors is in the business of selling cars. The Associated Press is in the business of distributing news stories. CNN, Fox, MSNBC and all their competitors are in the business of assembling an audience through the presentation of news for paying sponsors.
Apparently you believe a substantial audience would assemble to see the current national leaders treated as and dismissed as 'punks'. Or, I suspect, you believe your personal beliefs should be offered to the American people as truths and they will gather in huge numbers.
Is that why Fox News became the dominant cable news channel? The viewers flocked to Fox's presentation and made them the ones to copy. The reason pretzel4gore doesn't have an hour show on MSNBC nightly and right-wing-wacko Joe Scarborough does is entirely the fault of viewers.

as long as it stinks to high heaven. The only reason the major networks cover all the GOP crap is because they are owned by greedy corporations. These greedy corporations know which side their bread is buttered on.

Viewers no longer control what they watch, less they march in lockstep with what is being told to them.
The Associated Press does in fact distribute news. But, it's up to the media (magazines, tee-vee, etc.) to "report" it "fairly" and in a balanced manner, as the Constitution intended it as such.
And how can a "substantial" number of audience members know they're being lied too when they're so busy just getting by in their daily routines?
Personal beliefs like truth are to be expected, in deed.
Fox News? Dominant news channel? What playing field might that be? Didn't realize they had that big of a viewer audience that flocks to their showings.
And, pretzel4gore? I'm sorry but I happen to believe Vice President Gore is still a statesman, and one heck of a better leader then anything else we have right now.
He was voted in to be President in the year 2000, but if you'll recall, the Supreme Court Justice changed that one along w/vote count stoppage down in Florida.

27. that's exactly the point.... |

if the pigmedia told the truth to the people, as it impacts them according to a multi-variety of both public and private funded news orgs, then the history we have to put up with never happened at all. While Prez Gore might indeed be in the WH after the 2k election, the lies told by the pigmedia had been promulgated for a long time before that and history had already been totally made over by those lies....way back in the time of plato, and aristotle etc, the idea that the 'people' could be 'informed' by a disinterested party (ie a 'media') was considered improbable at best, and both aristotle and plato thought, for better or worse, democracy could only work if those in the know (the aristocrats) possessed a sense of public service, and thus served the people, sometimes even against the people's wishes - to think the people could elect proper representation was simply pie in the sky idealistic thinking, according to a couple of the men who basically established western culture, because selfinterest was too powerful among the people, and therefore lies would be needed to get elected! And the fact is, looking at georgebushamerica, living in georgebushamerica, listening to the bush protection team (newsmedia)...all suggest democracy is indeed impossible in a world where money determines what's in the news. maybe we should just demand a media whose lies serve the public interest ONLY

28. "as the Constitution intended it as such." WRONG! |
|
The Constitution says nothing about "a balanced manner" in reporting. The Founding Fathers had no experience with or expectation of a 'balanced' Press. The Constitution imposes no standard on public reporting at all.

We the people have a right to know, and we're weened early on that journalists on the tee-vee told us the truth, broke real news stories to us, keeping us informed.
The GOP radared in on that many moons ago. That must be why they bought them.

Vultures is right. Got tired of flipping the remote on the so-called (BS) liberal media stations today, watching Kennedy repeatedly all over CNN and MSNBC today when 5 more soldiers were in deed killed today in Iraq. Less more have since I read this on the internet news sites. Why. You'd think someone had been killed!
But guess what. Like John said 5 more did over in Iraq.
How do they sleep at night, BigBearJohn asks...? Hmmm. Probably very comfortably in their 800-thread silk sheets.
And regarding Kennedy: Whens the last time any one witnessed a GOP Senator or Rep., or at that fact any Republican politician stand before a mike and with strength and dignity admit to making a human mistake? Not a one. Oh, they whine, moan, grumble, blame, and sometimes even cry fake tears but we all know they're not sincere.
 BigbearJohn. You speak for this kid.
