28. And here are the names of the others at the Operation 40 nightclub confab.

The Mexico City nightclub photo reveals a mixed group of apparent Cuban exiles, Italian wise guys, and square-jawed military intelligence types. It was discovered among keepsakes kept in the safe of the widow of CIA pilot and drug smuggler Barry Seal (third from left). It appears on the cover of “Barry & ‘the boys:’ The CIA, the Mob & America’s Secret History”.

Goss appears second on the left. He is seated between notorious CIA pilot and drug smuggler Barry Seal (third left) and the equally-notorious CIA assassin Felix Rodriguez (front left), a Cuban vice cop under the corrupt Mob-run Batista regime who later became an Iran Contra operative and a confidant of the first George Bush.

The only one of the spook celebrants displaying any hint of tradecraft (seated on the other side of the table covering his face with his sport coat) is Frank Sturgis, most famous as one of the Watergate burglars.

33. Porter Goss, E. Howard Hunt, Frank Sturgis ... a blast from the past.
Together with Watergate ... history repeats itself like acid reflux. :puke:

2. I remember reading some time ago a remark about whether to
work with the CIA or the president. The conclusion was the pres is only in for 4-8 years. The CIA is forever and could get rid of the pres if it wanted to. Sure has the experience in bumping off heads of states.

9. Watergate and the true downfall of Nixon began with
Edited on Fri May-05-06 07:39 PM by IndyOp
CIA agents who weren't happy with Tricky Dick... So my friend (who knows *everything*) tells me.

Also - this has been coming a LONG time. Even though *'s Daddy was CIA -- he was never really a part of the agency, other than a hated figurehead. Ever since * appointed Porter Goss - who was HATED - from the moment of his appointment, I've been waiting for this meltdown.

:hi:

Maybe. Then again, may they are the sons of free market Kool-Aid drinkers who just don't like Goss.

26. Been waiting for it since Tenet out. Never thought he fell on his sword
And never thought the many who serve out of real love of country were gonna sit still for the outing of Plame and the blaming of the CIA for 'faulty intel' that led to the invasion. There have to be a lot of VERY pissed off spooks who do not like the way Cheney has done things and then blamed them. There has been a chess game going on and Cheney is about to lose big time.

15. So complex. We keep hearing that G, Sr. is unhappy with the PNAC
Edited on Fri May-05-06 07:57 PM by higher class
path. (Don't you think that the powers that reign behind the scenes all agreed to the PNAC plan because they were convinced to agree to the plan that Dick, Don, and Paul presented to them - that it would be short, shocking, and awesome and flowers and hugs would follow). They powers that be also agreed to the role for G, Jr. and were told that Karl, Andrew, and Karen could handle him, groom him, pump up his fragile, revengeful, juvenile character.

None of it worked and those old Carlyle codgers, ceo's, barons said ENOUGH!

Porter's problem is that he seems to have skeltons all over the place, including rumors that he was 'around' during the K assassination. Old G. Sr. also appears to be involved in JFK, CIA Cuba, and assassination intricacies - yes - Sr who has also said he can't remember what he was doing when he heard that K was shot.

I think the problems that Porter has are as much about Brewster-Jennings as poker and protitutes. And it could be that the strength of those agents that Porter purged from the CIA and the evolving take-over of the CIA by the DIA is over the line for the CIA and alum (G, Sr.)

But, if there is an update or evaluation involving the K assassination in this - it is better than ancient fables, fairy tales, Stephen King, HBO, Las Vegas, or the bible.

23. What always haunts me is a photo of a crowd in front of the depository
waiting for the motorcade and one of the faces in the crowd looks so much like Oswald that I can't shake it - i.e., he was outside and downstairs. Maybe it's been debunked. But, it haunts anyway. It's in a book published by the Kansas City Star (newspaper).
