Ladies and Gentlemen, I bring you THE top story of the night!
So I'm watching my local Channel 7 news.

And what was tonight's top story, you're wondering?

You got it! Rep. Patrick Kennedy's decision to enter rehab.

With all that's going on the in the world today (more dead U.S. soldiers in Iraq, Idiot Son's record-low ratings, etc), they decided to lead off with a Kennedy's substance abuse problem.

That's a very sad commentary on the state of our media today.

And as a sidebar note: Why are the Kennedy's so hated in America?

They interviewed an average Joe Citizen here in D.C. about the Kennedy situation, and he said he thinks the Kennedy name carries a lot of weight, and that's why Patrick was not given a field sobriety test.

Huh? They Kennedys are perhaps the most hated family here in America. Yet this person thinks they get preferrential treatment.

3. I think it all goes back to 1963...
The absolute LAST thing the "powers that be" want is for an uncorrupted Kennedy to get anywhere NEAR the Whitehouse. There is simply far to much damage they could do if they had the power to do it.

The general population, however, merely parrots back what the media feeds them.

6. That the Kennedys get special treatment is a widely held view
Statements out of the FOP and other in the Wash DC police over this incident add to that perception. Sen Kennedy's opposition to wind farming of the Mass coast is also not sitting well for the same reasons.
