Goss / Kennedy: the bi-partisan scandal of the week..
I wonder which story will matter more in the coming weeks: the now former Republican CIA director with ALLEGED ties to graft, illicit sex and gambling....

or the Democrat congresmman who ALLEGEDLY had a bit too much to drink but admittedly wrecked his car:

Will THE AmericanIdolpublick...I mean the Americanpublick, fixate on ELEPHANT SEX OR DONKEY DRUGS?

Personally, I hope that if the Goss thing is true, that it is given as much due as a certain not so similar (but yeah, pretty much the same) WH/intern indiscretion a li'l while ago. I will be very distressed if Pat Kennedy becomes the Weapon of Mass Distraction of the Week, while something even more egregious is happening. Well, by their standards at least. OH YEAH RIGHT! Hey, uh, Rush? Hey, babe how ya doin'? How's that Oxicontin thing working out for ya? Hey, Robert Downey Jr called..he wants his suite at Betty Ford back.

Uh, like I need to remind anyone: Please vote this November.

1. I hope they concentrate all THEIR efforts on Kennedy

So we can concentrate all OUR efforts on Goss, undisputed.

Like we did with the Colbert thing before they caught on and started publically declaring it NOT FUNNY.

2. So many of these things wouldn't be scandals, at least IMHO
except for the context in which they occur.

So many of the ones for the Repubs are in a very hypocritical context of The holier than thou condemnation of everyone in the world who isn't like them, supposedly.

Overindulging in the very things they use to divide the public and win votes, and then abusing their power to cover it up.

That IS scandal.

Having a drug or drinking problem is not itself a scandal, IMHO. Again it is the cover up or abuse of power to cover up that puts it there.

Althought obviously the substance abuse problem can make a person a danger to the public, but isn't a sign of a moral deficiency on their part.
