''Whores buying whores for whores.''
can you put it any better than that?

http://billmon.org/archives/002410.html
It's only an educated guess -- but also a reasonable one, given that Brent Wilkes and Mitchell Wade, the two contractors involved, were manuevering to stick their dicks in the intelligence community's contracting honeypot as well as the Pentagon's. Goss's previous jobs as chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and vice chairman of the low-key but powerful House Rules Committee (which controls the flow of legislation to the floor) obviously would have made him an extremely attractive piece of bowel material to a couple of intestinal parasites like Wilkes and Wade.

On the other hand, Goss has a lot of enemies, including just about the entire career staff at the CIA, which he has been industriously purging of suspected Democrats at the behest of his White House masters. (If Porter ever turns up dead, the suspect list is going to include half of the McLean, Va. phone book and most of the world's professional assassins.) So who knows? Maybe it's just ex-spook disinformation -- like the bit about the couple of dozen senior White House aides who were supposed to be indicted in the Plame case last October. But, if it turns out to be true, the implications really will take us into Clancy and Ludlum territory. The blackmail potential alone is worth a chapter in anyone's paranoid conspiracy thriller.

Who else might have known about Porter's semi-alleged extracurricular activities, and what price would they have been in a position to charge for that information? And how would that price have been paid? The Cheneyites obviously put Goss at the agency because they believed he would be their loyal henchman (and he's certainly proved them right) but did they have the added security of knowing where, and with whom, their boy was spending his Saturday nights?

OK, I know I'm getting carried away here. But this is really creepy stuff -- and contributes to the impression I sometimes have that we're now living in the only banana republic armed with nuclear weapons. (Or, as I've also been known to call it, North Argentina.)

>>>>>>>>>>

so it appears the media are playing this WAY down, and having much more fun in the sleaze of Kennedy family news marketability, ignoring the possibility that the HEAD of the CIA has possibily put himself in the position of major blackmail scenarios. Exactly WHAT sorts of sex/drug/prostitution/spy scandal does this administration have to engage in before it becomes a major news story?

1. if it were whores buying whores for whores for whores, that might
be why the fourth whore estate isn't covering this: perhaps some media hoes were at the Watergate, too. Woodward? Is that why nobody's digging into Goss' possible involvement?

is there ANY doubt that the real reason he's leaving is because he's deeply entangled in some aspect of this.

anybody got links to earlier discussions of this?

thx

2. I hope we can find
at least a couple of blue dresses in his closet.

Porter might be a dead man walking. He goes all the way back to the Bay of Pigs. He knows too much.

Why is W screwing Poppy's old friend?

I think it's every man for himself at this point in BushCo world and Fitzgerald is a genius.

5. that's why I started this...overnight, as I listened to the radio, I heard
only a very few stories about this, there was NO mention of Wilkes, etal. just the BS that Negroponte was standing up to the DOD, and asserting control over intel.

what a crock, as if the complete subjugation of all intel into the upper reaches of the executive branch isn't EXACTLY what they've wanted from the beginning

and that very revealing Freudian slip by Rumsfeld to McGovern (I'm not in the intelligence business..!!!!!...) is simply another example of a rubric to follow when listening to these crooks: whatever they say, believe the opposite. Just read the section in James Risen's book about Rumsfeld obsession regarding building his own, personal intelligence force at the DOD, and bending all other intel to his needs. Read about his utter contempt for Condi, who Risen quotes an unnamed source as completely ineffective, the "worst" NSC head in history, the main reason being her inability to corral Rumsfeld or Cheney, the true powers behind the scenes.

Goss is Bush's man; the man he chose to destroy the professional side of the CIA, the GS side of it, those who are there out of some sense of duty. Just as Reagan's mission in seeding all government agencies with hacks like Gorsuch/Burford, James Watt, Clarence Thomsas, etal, and their fundamentalist right wing anti-government ideologues, whose intent was to destroy the agencies they were putatively appointed to 'lead,' Goss' job was to continue the job of weeding out anybody whose loyalty to the regime was in the slightest question. No way they want him out til his job is done. Is it, already? No way he could've accomplished it in only one year....there are still some there who haven't pledged their fealty to creeps like Goss/Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld

6. It's interesting
that your link mentions an analogy with the film Brazil. I've watched that a few times recently and the propaganda posters in the film posted by the Ministry of Information and the antics of your Dept. of Homeland Security seems to getting closer.

When the DHS does reach an exact match then these are posters you can expect to see :

Suspician breeds confidence

Help the DHS help you

Information : The key to prosperity

Don't suspect a friend : Report him

Trust in haste : Regret at leisure

Who can you trust ?

I had to root around for its origin : http://hem.passagen.se/replikant/ingsoc_propaganda.htm

I've been tempted in the past to lift one of Pink Floyds Marching Hammers poster which convey similar thoughts on this subject.

What's this got to do with Porter Goss? Maybe nothing. But here's the reason for speculation. Wilkes did hold parties and poker games for CIA officials and lawmakers, including members of the House intelligence committee. (Goss has been a CIA director, a lawmaker, and a member of the House intelligence committee.) Wilkes was pals with Foggo. (As CIA executive director, Foggo manages the CIA on a day-by-day basis for Goss.) So might Goss know anything about
(a) a rigged contract;
(b) bad behavior at Wilkes' poker bashes;
(c) the non-recreational use of prostitutes;
(d) all of the above or
(e) something we cannot even imagine?

The Foggo-Wilkes-hooker links are certainly quite sketchy at the moment. But--to put this in perspective--they are firmer than some of the intelligence the Bush administration used to claim Saddam Hussein was in bed with bin Laden.

18. question is: are they political whores, or money/ratings whores?
Hookers & sex changes everything, IMO. What we need for a media bonanza are women coming forward, but Randi Rhodes suspects there weren't too many women involved in this, ifyaknowwhatimean.

look at the Gannon scandal, for one example only

they don't CARE if these things involve pugs...down the memory hole

remember the Homeland Security publicity guy? what happened to THAT story? submerged in the lake of forgetfulness without a ripple

28. from above link
http://www.slate.com/id/2109870 /

... Goss also helped Bush during the early days of the Joseph Wilson-Valerie Plame scandal. As chairman of a House oversight committee and as a former CIA case officer himself, Goss should have been dismayed that a White House aide might have exposed the identity of an undercover agent as an act of political retaliation against the agent's spouse. But, although the Justice Department took the reports seriously enough to mount a grand-jury probe, Goss dismissed them as "wild and unsubstantiated" and added, as a jab at the Democrats,

"Somebody sends me a blue dress and some DNA, I'll have an investigation." ...

Goss' epitaph, I hope
