I do believe the 2nd Coming of Christ is any day now
Not the rapture...Just Christ's return.
After the way induhviduals like scrubbie, pat "Christ is my Hitman" robertson and other members of the American-Taliban movement have been invoking his name to make money and defend the garbage that they do, I think he'll be paying a quick visit, slap some people around and return back to heaven.
I also wouldn't be surprised if Christ brought Mohammad with him as well. Because there are a few in the islamo-fascist movement that could use some slapping around as well.

3. Damn it all...
I really gotta clean my desk. That's the third 2nd Coming memo I've lost in the last 500 years.
Thanks for the info though.
Boy, I'd have felt stupid waiting at the airport waiting for him.

6. It may be one of the signs;
But I just came from the dark side (trolling in freeperville) and there are a lot of their denizens ppissed off at bush. Now what are some other signs? bush admitting that they spy on ordinary mericans for the political sport of it? Gen powell calling rummy a liar pubically? Fitz indicting bush for crimes against the US and against the Constitution? My world would sure be rocked!

10. A different, perhaps more sane take on this
http://www.edgarcayce.org/about_ec/cayce_on/christ/index.html

Oftentimes, when individuals hear the terms "Christ" or "Jesus," right away they may fall into preconceived notions based upon their upbringing or particular religious background. Throughout history, the perspectives people have had on the life and teachings of Jesus have been varied, oftentimes even at odds. Sometimes individuals involved in so called "new age" philosophies or comparative religious studies have decided that Jesus was "just a teacher." Was he only a prophet? Others have decided to disregard him altogether. Members of non-Christian faiths may have ignored his life and ministry. Was he a man who committed blasphemy by thinking himself a God? Others may have said, "Well, Christians have been cruel to me and therefore I'm not interested in Jesus." Even among those who call themselves Christian there is not complete agreement about the meaning of Jesus' life and work. These disagreements have resulted in dozens of denominational factions, charges of heresy or breaking away from the faith, and countless wars. The Edgar Cayce material, however, offers an approach that suggests there is a way of looking at Jesus' life in a manner that unifies all of humankind rather than dividing it.

Q. What is the meaning and significance of the words Jesus and Christ...?

A. Just as indicated. Jesus is the man . the activity, the mind, the relationships that He bore to others. Yea, He was mindful of friends, He was sociable, He was loving, He was kind, He was gentle. He grew faint, He grew weak . and yet gained that strength that He has promised, in becoming the Christ, by fulfilling and overcoming the world! Ye are made strong . in body, in mind, in soul and purpose . by that power in Christ. The power, then, is in the Christ. The pattern is in Jesus.<<

12. I like that "American-Taliban", maybe that's what we need to call all.....
....neocons/fundies from now on. They are terrorists after all. As for Christ's return - don't count on it. IF there is a Jesus/Christ he's been asleep on the job much too long to be bothered now. Oh, and as for invoking Christ's name - that's been going on since before the Crusades and there are no verifiable reports of anyone seeing hide or hair of Christ then.

15. The real shock for the Rapturites
will be when they get "Left Behind" with the rest of the planet. Karma can be a bitch - they'll have to live with the shrunken ineffectual government they have helped create, the global warning they've declared "junk science", and the other consequences of using up resources 'just because they can'.

19. Unfortunately, so will we
I keep trying to wake up the Rapture addled Calvinists out there with the simple word, "unchristian." It works some of the time and causes them to go away and leave me alone all of the time.

Facts sure haven't done it.

If anybody else has found a way to get through to these people, I'd like to hear it. Our survival depends on it.

for reformation, and isn't that what Christ and Buddha and Mohammed all did in their day?
Focal points for rapid progress.

24. The director's "sequel" is called "Cowboys For Christ", adapted from his
just released novel:

After thirty years, along comes 'COWBOYS FOR CHRIST, on May Day' - a book that inhabits the same disturbing territory as THE WICKER MAN, written by THE WICKER MAN director, Robin Hardy.

Young Beth and Steve, a gospel singer and her cowboy boyfriend, both Christian members of a no-sex-before-marriage pact they call 'the silver ring thing', leave Texas to preach door-to-door in Scotland. Scotland and all Europe are as foreign to them as if they were in Papua New Guinea. When, after initial abuse, they are welcomed with joy and elation to Tressock, the border fiefdom of the sinister Lachlan Morrison, they assume thir hosts want to simply hear more about Jesus.

How innocent and wrong they are.

30. Jesus returns daily.
He is found in the homeless person; the woman who has an eating disorder; the abused child; the thug in jail. He isn't found on stained glass windows.
