*'s speech in Oklahoma. You'd think everyone was beside themselves with glee that he was there.

have the audacity to run around the globe, admonishing Third World countries to democratize their societies - you shouldn't throw rocks when you live in a glass house.

39. Same with CNN. The perky reporter was

grinning ear to ear as she breathlessly explained that chimpy received a warm Oklahoma welcome. No mention of protestors. Can't inject even a little reality into their "reporting." Pathetic.

Edited on Sat May-06-06 02:53 PM by hippywife
The last count of protesters we heard was over 400 and I believe it! The crowd just kept growing.

We chartered a bus from Tulsa to join in. It was a truly awesome day! My husband will have more pics available later, too, but we are so exhausted right now!

It's nap time!!

Oh, and the rain held off all day, except for a few sprinkles, until we were heading back home.

I can't believe this is one of the reddest states in the country - home to the cretin of the Senate -Dr. Coburn. I spent some time at OSU and I am surprised by this. Thanks for the great pics. I love the sign about civil liberties and the pic of Darth Vadar. Excellent stuff!

7. bush had ONE supporter?
ONE SUPPORTER? In "red as hell" Oklahoma? People in Oklahoma are too polite. Just about anywhere else he would have been booed off the stage.

When I think of bush the first thing on my mind IS NOT academia! He sticks out like a turd in a punch bowl when around learned people.

42. We came down from Kansas, and we so glad we did! Great pix, btw
To all you Oklahomans who were there, we were proud to stand beside you. And to the Texans, other Kansans, aren't you glad you came, too? Don't forget another opportunity in OK just 10 days away in Duncan. Halliburton Shareholders Meeting! People will be coming in from NOLA, Houston, KS, DFW, etc.

There were alot of "newbies" at the protest, and they are full of energy, righteous indignation and are ready for more!!! Thanks to all the locals and students who did the footwork to make this one very successful protest.

I was sick as a dog this morning, thought maybe I was allergic to something that had drifted into Stillwater yesterday!

hannah from SE kansas

good to meet you, fellow patriots!

41. Excellent! Wish I could have come. Loved it that some did walk
out, including a couple of professors! Hope Crissy's vet marched out (OSU vet school handles my dog's Cushings', hypothyroidism, lupus, and diabetes, and glaucoma.).

Of course, if I'd been there, I would have had to slap that Middleton guy who was yelling, "God Bless George Bush." according to the evening news.

43. Profs in their official regalia!
Wow. For academics, this is the closest thing to an "dress uniform". It really sends a signal, that they were willing to demonstrate in their regalia (kind of like military decorations, you have to earn that cap, hood, and robe ... each school has its own unique set).
