All is well here in Greenville. I spent my last night on the mountain on 3/27. I did the final walk-through on my birthday, 3/30. Nick-Nick took his last romp in the woods as I made sure the house was perfect for the new owners, who were moving in on 3/31.
I do not miss all the hassles of a second home, especially the security issues. It was determined that my neighbor's house was torched. The FBI is now on the case. They think that one was meth addicts. Meth is a big problem in western NC.
I'm hesitant to mention the other problem due to the shit-storm it caused with some troublemakers here at DU. Suffice to say that the real estate agent that brought those guys out has become a good friend (she even bought some furniture from me). She is convinced, independently, that they were not buyers.

29. Don't know that I was ever

a real hippie but I was looking in on the "beat scene" in La Jolla while stationed at NAS North Island. Got sidetracked by the Air Farce but hit The City mid-sixties and spent much of the rest of the decade there but not with "Flowers in My Hair". Known associates: hippies, bikers, pool hustlers, you know, the cream of society. Spent more time in the Tenderloin that in the Haight though.
