Addiction is about shame, fear, avoidance, and depedence.

It is no wonder that it is rampant in this society. A spiritually void, intellectually bankrupt culture that has no reason to exist other then to CONSUME.

And, it is an incredibly immature culture.

People can't talk honestly about anything. Our media are like a bunch of catty bitches just salivating to see who they are going to play 'Gotcha' with next. Like a bunch of teenagers! (I truly believe we are walking around with a 14 year mass mentality).

So much judgement. So much shame

This society needs so much compassion and so much love to heal from its wounds.

But, who is going to give it?

1. Addiction is about having the disease of addiction...
other factors play in to it, but it is NOT a character flaw, anymore than alcoholism is a character flaw.

2. I beg to differ
the mass mentality is about two

the whole nation has the terrible twos- where a kid just figures out he is not in charge but not convinced everyone else knows this... they run a lot of bluffs with bluster and bravado, and raise a mighty hell when they don't get their way

4. OP: statement included estimated age of mass mentality
"(I truly believe we are walking around with a 14 year mass mentality)."

I firmly believe that is WAY off base. 14 year olds have more life experience thatn what we show as a population.
