Abramoff in the (White) House

Now, I'm not too up on my presidential transition teams, but doesn't this Washington Post clip suggest that Abramoff actually worked for the Bush White House?
"With Norquist's help, Abramoff secured a spot on the transition team for the Interior Department after George W. Bush was elected president in 2000. He tried to place several officials in Interior, including an unsuccessful attempt to land a former Marianas official in the top spot overseeing U.S. territories."

Two points of interest: Interior oversees Indian (gaming) affairs, cash from which fueled Abramoff's K Street mafia. Interior also governs the Mariana Islands, whose Made In The USA sweatshop racket Abramoff was paid to protect.

UPDATE: This Newsweek piece gives Bush more credit than Abramoff's old College Republican crony Norquist: "Bush tapped Abramoff as member of his Presidential Transition Team, advising the administration on policy and hiring at the Interior Department."

1. It was brought up here before - I saved this quote

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/01/05/AR2006010501903.html
This careful judge of what it means to be an "honorable public servant" had reason to prefer the Bush administration's taste in appointees. After the 2000 election, Abramoff was named to the Bush transition team for the Interior Department, which regulates the Indian casinos that paid Abramoff his inflated fees.

2. There is so much dirt in the White House no
one will ever get rid of it. It would take a fleet of bulldozers.

4. The they put the fox in full scope of the hen house?
This is a deadly point of how the Bushbots knew exactly what they were doing with Abramhoff.
