Update on the tour for republicans today
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x106431

This is a very conservative, republican area. There are hardly any dems in office, so in order to get anything done, guess what? We need to play nice. So, I give my tour today, along with the director and it made me really sad that I have to pander to republicans to get funding.

Thing is, they really want to help. Lordy, what a situation to be in.
It was like this in the old days, but back then, you could be of opposing parties and still get things done. Bet if I mentioned I was a dem, they would have acted a little different. And it all comes down to votes. The fact that the people who would be receiving assistant from their decision are voters in the right areas is what is most important to them.

I sat there listening are realized that they will give help to our organization, but at the same time take something away from the same constituents they say they are helping. What a messed up world.
