It's simple: Dems need say only that there are too many ? about Alito
to allow him on the US Supreme Court. They don't have to have any more extravagant reasoning than that. They need only say the court and the country deserves a moderate not somebody whose entire philosophy is far to the right. The country is divided enough.

Obviously Democrats alone can't stop him on an up and down vote, but if 40 Senators with convictions can get together and filibuster him--he can be stopped. We have 44 Dems in the Senate plus Jeffords of VT--45--we can still allow 5 spineless Dems to support him, and stop him with the filibuster.

We must do this.
