Behind every great man is a great woman....
Ever hear the expression?

Is it true today?

Possible reasons why it isn't....

1. Huge shift in the independence of women....leading to a tendency for men to throw morals and integrity to the wind.

2. American corporate business overall endorcement of "ass-kissers"....thus bringing to the forefront those so called men that can't even stand up for what they believe.

3. The emerging bad business American ethic that holds that one SHOULDN'T have to have steadfast morals, perserverance, and long term integrity to satisfy one's soul. When pursuing short term, cutthroat bottom line profits....such conscious realizations can only get in the way....

You've heard of the breakdown of the family..
You've heard of the breakdown of ethics in the workplace....

But did you ever think that the worst elements of runaway selfish capitalism would produce such weak kneed JO's as what is now held high in this country as "MEN"?

3. It's certainly true for the uberclass
because every rich man needs a full time, unpaid domestic servant to manage household staff, act as hostess, run his errands, make sure his clothing is presentable, create and manage his social schedule (including appropriate charity functions), and act as a reflection of his success in life by being a clothes horse.

If childbirth makes her a little too shabby for that latter role, she's replaced by a younger model at will, but that younger model will have to be prepared to fulfill all the same duties.

5. I was taught this...
that it was my duty to make my husband all he could be. And, it's probably true because I'm sure a lot of the goons who did make it, did so because the smarter wife told them what to do.

6. Behind every great person you'll find numerous great people
Edited on Wed Jan-11-06 10:45 PM by CornField
I find that statement to be much more true. The truly great people in our society did't just pop out of the womb as such, they were aided by others along the way, learned lessons and applied them practically to life for everyone. The truly great people in life are the ones who learned to live with their own shortcomings and surround themselves with individuals to make up the difference.
