Poll question: How many slams at Al Gore have your seen/heard/read in the last 2 months?
For purposes of this poll count only negative references by the mass media here, not the keyboard idiots in freeperville or incidental remarks by your loudmouth rightwing neighbor/cousin/priest/teacher/whatever.
Letters to the editor and bloggers' original posts DO count (not the discussion thread, if any).

1. Ann Coulter was quoted as saying she thought Gore "seemed kinda gay."
Here Coulter uses 'gay' as a perjorative, playing to her red meat Red Koolaid crowd.

I believe that's a typical smear for a hit-and-run talk show "analyst": gossipy, catty (whether male or female), nasty-toned, and designed to debase.

Coulter (and others) are like a glaze of ice on the highway. Not that deep at all, but very slippery & just enough to cause a skid.

Al and Tipper look pretty happy together if you ask me, and neither one of them is uneasy being around anyone who's different. They seem happy and evolved.

2. Just the South Park episode.
So that's one. I'm super duper cereal.

3. No idea where that came from.
A six-year-old Gore Is Boring meme, plus an equally valid and timely denial of global warming. And the "serial/cereal" thing--what was that about?

5. I'm guessing because his movie just came out.
And Matt and Trey have always been contemptful of global warming. As far as the "I'm cereal" stuff I don't know what that was all about. We used to say that as kids but I don't see why it's attributed to him.

4. Yeah, that's what got me kind of looking out for it elsewhere
Just out of the blue, they launched a serious shitfling at a guy who's been, by any reasonable measure, pretty low key about his public life for the last 5 years. I couldn't figure out why they'd do that, but it put me on alert since Gore is one of the RW's favorite whipping boys. Then I heard another Goreslam on G4TV last week. And from the looks of the poll, some folks have been seeing it quite a bit. There seems to be a concerted effort to pump the "Gore sucks" meme; I suspect it'll reach epidemic proportions in the next 6 months, then taper off again until the Democratic primaries.
