What you wrote is precisely how I've felt about this country I call home since I moved back here a few years ago. I didn't recognize the place, and it gets worse just about every day. I often cry myself to sleep because I'm so ashamed of what they've done to it. And it isn't just BushCo and the entire Congress that are at fault...It's the people, too. Those who voted for Bush** and those who didn't bother voting. For letting it happen. For valuing their small lives and their smug "We won, get over it" mentality over all else, and letting the poison continue to course through America's bloodstream.

I wish every American had a chance to live abroad and return to see this tragedy with fresh eyes as I did. They'd cry too. The America I knew and loved is dead -- and everyone who voted for Bush** and lets things stand as they are another day without screaming in outrage is an accomplice in her death.

Too few of us Americans can truly say we aren't responsible: we stood up for the USA. Too few listened. What does that make them?
