but part of me sympathizes with the adults since they were forced into near isolation to practice their brand of christianity (kooky as it may be). Still, they are generally not unintelligent and should have adapted to the dangers of incestuous breeding. They know what everyone knows about simple reproductive reality.

I sure hope they/we decriminalize their religious practices, but part of me thinks they are the sociological equivalent of buggy whip makers.
