Nothing new to say... nothing profund... |
This isn't new or profound. There's no difference between Communism and the U.S. way of life. Communism, or whatever you want to call it. I'm no political aficionado, but I know that if you support Communism then you should have no reason to complain. The U.S. is governed by a few corporate executives as surely as the U.S.S.R. was governed by the commissariats. It starts with the fact that there is no reliable healthcare. Continues with the fact that there is no guarantee of employment, shelter, or any of life's necessities unless we are obedient to our masters to the full extent that we are physically and mentally capable. One false step, one hair out of place, and it's all over for anyone thinking of expressing their individuality. So again I have nothing new or profound to say. I have no scoop on any current event. Nothing to say that we all don't already know. We are living in the perfect Communist society. The U.S. has accomplished what the U.S.S.R. could only imagine. I am really sick of this... I don't feel physically or mentally sick but intellectually sick. Don't get me wrong, I'll do my bet to get by, but I have no choice but to live within the guidelines of the commissariats. How could a country that was founded on the principles of freedom come to this?

2. while some parallels may be valid, |
to be fair, in the USSR, even under the worst of the Brezhnev years, if you were willing to work, you were guaranteed a job and a minimal standard of living(some form of housing and food)...sadly, the US, the richest country in the world, cannot even do just that. People are working 3 jobs and still can't afford rent or health insurance. Not to talk up the shitbomb that was Brezhnev's USSR, just to point out that the powers-that-be would rather maximize profits at the expense of the working person, rather than even maintain a basic standard of living for its citizens.

3. I know the analogy is not entirely clear... |
This idea comes from my gut and my heart but not my mind. If it were that intellectually clear it would not be so insidious and have such powerful control over us. We do have guaranteed employment and living accomadations... so long as we are subservient to the corporations. Like in the U.S.S.R. if you threatened to leave it meant imprisonment same goes here. If you do not show complete dedication to the corporate powers we are threatened with all sorts of punishments... the destitution of and alienation of our families, humiliation, and probable imprisonment if we try to survive without making our contribution to our corporate masters. So again the analogy is not clear, but at the same time it is inwardly obvious in the starkest sense.
