Tactically thinking about Dems winning the house in mid terms...
I was thinking about this on the way to work.

Since is looks like the Dems are going to regain control of the house in the mid term elections, I was wondering what people thought that if this, tactically is a good move. The reasoning behind my madness is it leaves a door open for the right to gather up and realign themselves before the presidential election winning back control of the senate and house using the whole "blame game" just as they did when they won control last time.

On the other hand, It gives the left the opportunity to exploit all of the lies, fraud, and crimes that have been committed since the gain of control over the senate and house.

Just seems like a catch 22 to me

1. a) It'll be VERY difficult to wrest control of the Congress
and it'd be very foolish to even imagine it's going to happen without a hella lot of hard work and money from our side.

b) We've worried far too much in the recent past about what the other side will do if we get the upper hand. We're too worried of winning. that's gotta stop.

I don't see winning as a catch 22 at all. It's an opportunity to put things right and you gotta take the opportunities as they come.

2. Winning some power is always better than no power.
There's no question that being in power is a good thing, and makes it no easier for your opponent to "realign" or anything else. The right will be in deepening disarray as we investigate their innumerable crimes and send them to jail or political exile.

3. Let the games begin.....
...if we get the house we should immediately begin multiple investigations and begin working to repeal the madness of the last 5 years.Televise the hearings and prove the truth of what the gop has spent 6 years doing to the American people....think that doesn't equate to more seats in '08 AND the presidency???Two caveats-it must be done in an open and civil manner with respect to gop pols, and we must be EVEN MORE RELENTLESS in hunting down any corrupt Dems....After the gains of '08,national health care, harnessing the multinationals, and comprehensive programs for alternate energy.

4. 1994 All Over Again But With The Internet
There are similarities with 1994 except in the other direction, naturally. The key difference, though, is the Internet. Lots of grass roots Democratic organizations are having a real effect but the two biggest ones, in my opinion, are MoveOn and Progressive Democrats Of America. I donate money to both regularly and monitor their work closely in order to remain comfortable with my how my contributions are utilized. I am very happy thus far.

These groups are doing for the left what Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson did for the right in 1994 but even more effectively. They are doing it mostly online and in 4 key ways:

1) The mobilize staff and supporters to bring their message right into Congressional offices.

2) They organize grassroots media events and protests at the local level all around the country in a way this nation hasn't seen since the run-up to the invasion of Iraq.

3) They convince political outsiders to run for elected office at the local, state and national level and then educate those candidates on how to win.

4) They endorse candidates through a strict screening process and then cross pollinate with those endorsees to help raise money and volunteer man hours to put them in office.

And they’re just getting started!
