How Are We Going To War With No Army Left?
Are we just planning on nuking Iran?

This is starting to get really disturbing. All these articles every day on how we are not going to war with Iran. Just like before we didn't go to war with Iraq. They might as well be using the same sound clips.

Probably Israel can take care of herself. She seems to do a pretty good job of it.

1. It's going to start with a massive air campaign
And when the Iranians are still standing, much to Bushco's suprise, a draft will be instated in this country, and off we go:eyes:

8. Actually, we'll only need a minimum number of soldiers...
To march through the throngs of cheering Iranians, who will be dancing and throwing flowers at the feet of our troops.

Wait...that sounds familiar...
??

generation.

14. Maybe, maybe not.
I'm thinking that there's going to be some sort of "terror attack" beforehand that will get pinned on Iran, much like 911 and Iraq. Under those circumstances I think that Bushco could do anything they wanted to, including a draft, and get away with it. People's regrets would only surface later, when they started to realize that they had been fooled again.

The reason my cynicism is that a year or so ago I read a little survey that stated how seventy percent of the US public would want, even demand martial law if there was another terrorist attack in the US. Yes, I'm bitter and cynical, but damned, the US public realizes my worst musings time and again.

15. It might be why security in the US is so weak
All you have to do is leave open the door, and let them walk in the door to attack you. You couldn't be blamed for anything more than incompetence and gross negligence, and you could use the event as an excuse to justify a new attack on a weaker country.

"We dropped the ball on this one, but we promise to correct the mistake...by hitting Iran."

This ain't no Iraq!

"They (US)got the guns But we got the numbers .." - Thanks to The Doors, Jim Morrison (Five to one song)

Also, Iran claims it has 40,000 terrorists ready to strike at any time. Believe them? I don't want to "play chicken" with them on this one.

edit: forgot stuff

3. I personally believe we intend to nuke Iran.
If not nuke, then we intend to bomb the heck out of nuke bases, which would amount to the same thing: radiation released, people dead.

benburch mentions 6/7/06, which sounds about right to me.

it is a repeat of the Iraq runup.

4. Iran is a lose lose lose situation
We can bomb all we want, but all it will do is put our military in Iraq in dire peril. We have no follow up. If Israel is attacked, or thinks it will be attacked, it will retaliate with its nukes, causing Pakistan or other Islamic countries that have gotten nukes without our knowledge to retaliate. The only ones who seem to want this are the End Timers, who are nuts imho.

5. Hey, no problem! all they have to do is march the same folks
across the river from Iraq to Iran! Don't you see, it solves two problems for Shrub. Everyone wants us to pull the troops out of Iraq, and he will, and you know how everyone falls right in line behind the Prez when we go into a NEW WAR!

:sarcasm:

Well, they would have if they didn't have other priorities or feel that they serve better by fighting the good fight in dirty, dangerous dorms.

10. It's going to be an air war, and we will probably destroy Iranian defenses
Edited on Tue May-09-06 01:27 PM by Selatius
Iranian air defenses are no match for US capabilities. We will take down most of their radar networks, communications, and probably destroy most of the Iranian airforce on the ground before they get in the air. I suspect the Israeli Airforce will have some role as well in an allied strike.

Within a matter of days if not hours, we will have air supremacy over their skies, but I suspect the price will be heavy.

If only 10 percent of their scud and Shahab missiles survives the US/Israeli attack, that's more than enough to, for instance, turn the Green Zone in Baghdad into a giant crater, and there are thousands of US troops there. They'll probably try and deploy what remains of their sunburn missiles against ships in the Hormuz Strait as well, and they'll probably order their agents across the Middle East to counter-attack and will order Hezbollah to attack Israel in retaliation.

We're not yet talking about the economic costs or even the diplomatic consequences of attacking a second country.

Whoo-Ah!

I think their plan is air power, launched from their newly built, especially for Iran, military bases in Iraq. They built the bases for a reason. THIS IS THE REASON.....to attack Iran and Syria.
