Jason Leopold reported in Truthout that Rove had received a target letter; that day or the next, Rove's lawyer made a statement that Patrick Fitzgerald had TOLD him that his client (Rove) was not a target of the investigation, but rather a subject of his investigation.

So folks following this at DU (I'll speak for myself) have been a bit confused. I have a feeling Sloan is citing the Leopold article.
