US Iraq envoy (and PNAC signatory) tells business to invest
http://news.ft.com/cms/s/d39f3776-df8c-11da-afe4-0000779e2340.html

Zalmay Khalilzad, US ambassador to Iraq, on Tuesday urged the business community not to miss opportunities in Iraq because of the myriad risks posed by instability and violence.

“From the business perspective, the question is when and how to become involved in Iraq,” he told potential investors at the Rebuild Iraq conference in the Jordanian capital Amman.

“While acting now undeniably involves risks, waiting might entail the risk of missing fleeting opportunities as Iraq’s energy industry, agricultural and tourism industry takes shape.

“For those understandably concerned about security, I remind you that 14 of Iraq’s 18 provinces have little or no insurgent or terrorist violence.”

2. or people
Jesus God in heaven do they really think everybody is an idiot? How many fucking times have they trotted out this bullshit? Seven? Eight? The places with the highest amount of violence also have the most people. Duhhhhhhhhh.

The energy industry is under some stress because the insurgents keep blowing up the pipelines. makes it hard to make a buck yes?

And Tourism? TOURISM? He has the fucking balls to say the word tourism and he wasn't laughed out of the hall? What fucking tourism? What the hell is going to be their pitch come see the looted museum? come see the ruins of the cities we blew up? See where they hung the bodies of the contractors. No you can't go out of the green Zone you'll be killed.

I'm sorry if Iraq is such a god damn hot place to invest why the hell are you holding the conference in Jordan? Maybe because Iraq isn't safe? Nah. that can't it. maybe the hookers are better.

3. Great Idea!!!
Post tourism ads at freerepublic and on the National Review magazine pages.

I think they should all go and stay a few weeks and come back and tell us how lovely it is.

Why not?
