I'm more upset with Conservatives than I am with George W. Bush

Posted on 05/08/2006 7:04:26 PM PDT by mwfsu84

If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?

If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?

If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?

Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.

And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.

So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.

If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?

George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.

If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.

I promise you, a Democratic Congress won't be nearly as responsive to your needs.

1. "With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam."
For the life of me I cannot figure out how people are so incredibly stupid. Do they know what a deficit is??? Do they know what the National Debt is???

7. And without taxes, they'd be chopping their way through the
underbrush to make roads with their own sweat and toil, or paying someone else to do it, they'd have no street lights, no cops, no fire departments...what incredible dunces they are. Ya wanna live in society, ya gotta contribute.

They don't seem to have a problem with their tax dollars supporting the Monkey's war of choice, though.

4. Form letters like this are an Ingenious Method
of rallying support amongst people who don't care to think. It is of course riddled with mistakes and jingoistic comments, but the key kernel of power is the ability to make people believe "their" way of life is under attack and force them to rally around the Dictator...

6. Afghanistan is SECURE?
In what parallel universe is THAT?

"won't be nearly as responsive to their needs."

What, like heathcare? Like fuel economy? Like balancing the budget? The Republicans aren't responsive to their needs unless they're millionaires.

What a fuckwad. Wait. What a LYING fuckwad.

Okay, that's better.

Afghanistan? Secure? By what measure?

These people are hopeless... just hopeless.

9. Out of their freakin' minds...
That's the only possible explanation. Delusional to the point of insanity. There HAS to be some kind of diagnosis for political schizophrenia...believing things that no rational person could possibly believe given all the evidence.

If there isn't, there should be.

13. Isn't it just "conservatism"
I mean, these people still believe all this, and all of it has been proven wrong, not just once, but repeatedly.

- They still believe that voodoo / trickle down economics works
- They still believe that the GOPranos are better at keeping America safe
- They still believe that the GOPrano party is better for the health of the economy
- They still believe that global warming is not real

I could go on... but you get the picture.

If I had told you on 9/11/2001 that we'd go four and half years and counting without another terrorist attack on US soil, would you have believed me?
Well, yes, of course. Only a moron would expect to get hit again and again. If you are that scared of terror, it must mean Bush isn't quite the protector you say he is. As a matter of fact, we shouldn't have even been hit on 9/11 in the first place. Thank Commander Bunnypants for that.

If I had told you that US-led forces would secure Afghanistan in just a few months...something the Soviets couldn't accomplish in ten years...would you have thought I was crazy?
I would certainly hope so. Clinton's military didn't do too badly, did it? But, now, there are reports of the Taliban re-emerging. Why can't Bush's DoD ever actually eliminate a threat, instead of just making it go away for a while.

If I had told you that Saddam was gone, that Khadaffy had renounced terrorism, and that Iraq was on the verge of becoming the second democracy in the Middle East, would have thought I was on medication?
Rush told me that, and guess what. He is addicted to drugs. Medication, to be specific.

Sometimes in our disappointment of this administration, we often forget some of the positives. The economy is strong. More Americans are homeowners. With tax cuts, we're spending less time working for Uncle Sam.
{b]Yeah, how'd you spend your $300? Too bad your tax cut will only will your gas tank five or six times... By the way, why is it that these effective tax cuts take so many years to even start showing any sign of working?

And if you take those benefits for granted, just imagine how much different things would be under a President Al Gore.
I know, it would be awful. Prosperity for the middle class, a nation-wide effort to rebuild New Orleans, no unending war in Iraq, no 9/11, gas at under $2 a gallon... Budget surpluses... It would be horrible

So if the president's stance on immigration and spending upset you - and they do upset me - what are you going to do about it? Stay at home? Nothing could be worse for conservativism. Your non-support will usher in more immigrants, higher taxes, and weaker national security.
How could anything possibly usher in more illegals, raise taxes on the lower classes (conservatives are pushing for more regressive taxes, after all), and weaker national security than more Republican control?

If the GOP loses Congress, George W. Bush will be removed from office. Nothing would embolden terrorists more. How can we be counted on to wage an effective war when we can't even decide who our enemy is?
You're right. With Bush in office, its clear who our enemy is. Its Osama. I mean Iraq. I mean Osama. I mean Iraq. I mean Iran. I mean North Korea. I mean Iraq. I mean Saddam. Osama who? I mean Iran.

George W. Bush isn't the enemy. But that's exactly the message conservatives will send to the world if they stay at home this November.
I thought you guys didn't care what the world thought?

If you're upset with W. on immigration - write him, write a Republican Congressman, let him know how you feel. It was conservatives who got Bush to change his mind on Harriet Meirs.
Oh, yeah, thats been working like gangbusters for Republicans in Kansas. Sam Brownback, conservative hero, sides with the President. As do most Republicans. Face it, conservatives, your politic ans are selling you out bigtime. But don't be surprised. That's precisely what you elected them to do. You just didn't know it at the time, because you were too stupid, and too caught up in liberal-bashing, gay-bashing, race-baiting, and pretending you love this country.

11. Reality-Challenged Freepers
The Freeps are clearly having difficulty dealing with reality. Afghanistan is anything BUT secure--due to Gee Dubya's and his fellow conservative republicans' leaving things half-done and going off to play in Iraq. Iraq is in the early stages of a civil war, civil order there has largely collapsed, the Iraqi populace hates America, and oil production has plunged further. Iraq has turned into another terrorist playground and al Qaeda's poplarity has grown in the Muslim world. Right-wing Republican tax cuts are undermining the solvency of the US federal government the way that Juan Peron's reckless spending undermined Argentina's fiscal structure for decades.

The incumbent mal-administration will be remembered by the majority of the US citizen--voters with sorrow and regret for generations.

Many of us progressives wonder what life would have been under President Gore, the US would have been considerably more safe, more secure, and in far better shape than under the feckless presidency of the Connecticut Cowboy.

14. No, they don't remember.
And if they do, they're doing their damnedest to make sure not to bring it up so nobody else will, either.

Gee... they never caught those DOMESTIC terrorists, did they? Seems like that'd be a priority, you know... seeing as they're ALREADY HERE and all.
