2. May be he should claim that his detractors
Are aiding the enemy or that he wrote his book to protect America's freedoms or something. America loves that.

3. I said the same thing
I have been watching the news today and its almost wall to wall coverage on the national and local news about this story and i said to myself, "what's the big deal?" Seriously, it's a book, is it like we feel cheated or something?? Allow me for a second to correlate this book and Bush. Lives directly affected by these lies= 1 (the author now). Lives directly affected by lies, exaggerations and misrepresentations in Iraq=approx. 2,400 coalition troops dead, approx. 15,000 American troops injured, approx. 25,000 Iraqi civilians killed w/ untold more injured, billions of tax dollars spent with no end in sight, and I ask you, who should be on Larry King answering the questions of the American people???!

4. No, no, no

...you don't get it. Bush lied to the American people and the rest of the world. Bush is responsible for thousands of deaths. Bush has broken the law.

But THIS guy, he lied to OPRAH....big difference. We've got to get with the program. :sarcasm:

Cheers!

They posted his Nation Guard records and a video of him drunk at a wedding years after he was supposedly sober.

9. I think this IS very significant.
This story is a perfect example of the culture in America. Lying for profit. This man made millions off of lies. It is quite a fitting example of the American Dream.
In one of his lies a devastating event in his life, one that surely lead him to addiction, was when he was responsible for a friends death at a young age.
He knew the girl and she had died...yet he lied about every other fact in the case and twisted it for him to be the victim even though he had NOTHING to do with her death.
If I were her parents, I would loathe the man who used my daughter's tragic death to add literary flare to his 'memoire'

11. It's a book.
It's not like he's the only person to write a book and embellish the story. I thought it was common practice myself.
