"He was shooting at our airplanes...I mean, the guy was a threat."
* from yesterday's catapaulting of the propaganda.

Question: Saddam shot at our airplanes? I remember the stories of the "radar locks" as US/British planes "patrolled" the no-fly zones but were shots ever fired at our planes? I sure don't remember that.

But, hey, I mean, the guy was a threat."

1. Did he ever shoot any down?
I wonder what the rednecks around here would do if the UN ordered a no fly zone over the US?

The thing is, we'll never know because only the Pentagon would report and they lie like hell. I once heard (sorry, I don't know where) that our "airplanes" were bombing Iraq before Monkey Boy declared war.

7. Yeah, I've never heard this particular phrase before.
We've seen the charts showing the massive run-up in bombings of Iraqi military installations in an attempt to draw Saddam into war but I damn sure don't remember there ever being any shots taken at our aircraft.

11. fuck that.
The no-fly-zones were not covered by any UN resolution, they were illegal. Saddam was shooting at planes that were flying over his country and bombing it after he signed a cease-fire agreement with said country.

How stupid is this guy ?

13. I think Saddam did shoot back on a few occasions, but that would be
because the US was (and still is) a threat to Iraq.

It's like stomping on a guy's face, he squirms, and than you kill him "because he was a threat".
