Is Bush going to fire (read: ask for resignation) Rove on TV tonight?
Edited on Sun May-14-06 10:23 PM by shadowknows69
It would be a chance for him to try to get back on the "Anyone involved will be fired" train. He could announce that the WH was informed of the indictment and Shrub immediately asked for his resignation which of course was given. Bush looks like he's keeping his promise and the facade of a house cleaning pleases his 28%.

1. It doesn't sound like something he would do
in my opinion.

7. I also hate waiting.
I hope that the "news" will announce Rove's indictment long before Bush's speech. :) Didn't Rove say he would resign if indicted? Whether he said so or not, I would expect him to. No need for Bush to announce his firing.

I really just can't see Bush announcing Rove's firing under any circumstances. It just doesn't seem to fit Bush.

Keep your fingers crossed.

9. The only reason he'd do it is
So they could do their "look, see, he does keep his promises. He's not a liar." spin and try to win points.

13. Well, that would be a novelty.
It would be the first time he proved himself to be something other than a liar.

If he does it, report back. There is no way I will watch his speech. I will not inflict suffering on myself.

P.S. In addition to the post card, please send back some of my socks. Thanks in advance for helping reduce my wardrobe budget.

8. Didn't anyone tell you where those socks go?
That's what black holes are made of. All those missing socks go to the black holes in outer space. A friend told me that decades ago. I think it solves the mystery.

10. So I could jump into the dryer and enter an alternate universe?
because I'm kind of tiring of this one.

11. I don't think that would be wise.
I think those socks are pretty flat now.

However, if you do go, try to send a post card. They say nothing escapes black holes, but you should just put extra postage.

5. Nope, Rove knows where ALL the skeletons are buried.
Busholini won't do anything but pardon Rove when he feels it's safe.

6. The maybe it's a pardon party for Karl and Scooter
Edited on Sun May-14-06 10:31 PM by shadowknows69
I know there's supposed to be convictions first but little details like that have never hindered the boy king before. It will be a "Preemptive" pardoning.

12. No. It would be too much like admitting a mistake.
It's more likely that he won't say a word about Rove.

14. No, Bush won't do any such thing
He'll say how great Rove is.

He rewards loyalty above all, and nothing Rove did was disloyal. Ergo, he'll be praised ad nauseam.

15. * may try it to do it in a vain attempt to boost his approval ratings.
But nothing will change. Rove just won't have his office space in the White House anymore. He will still be the puppetmaster and will still function as *'s brain, just from another location.

Bastards.

16. He is not going to do anything
that will give the appearance of pre-empting the indictment. The indictment is sealed still. He also will not fire his brain. KKKarl will have to resign--which it appears he will do when the indictment is made public.
