This is the sickest effing s**t I have ever read (WARNING)
I thought a long time before posting this, but it is an indication of the potentially horrible perversities of those who walk among us.

One day old child...

I hope these "parents" burn for all eternity.

The Jackson (TN) Sun

McKenzie police have charged two Carroll County parents with raping their child.

Jonathan Wayne Goodrum, 19, and Kristina Louise Sawyer, 18, are charged with raping their 1-day-old girl before she was taken home from McKenzie Regional Hospital about six weeks ago, said McKenzie Police Lt. Tim Nanney.

While both parents have been charged, Sawyer's bond was reduced because police still are investigating what role, if any, she played in the possible rape of her child, Nanney said. She was charged because "I could not exclude her from being part of it, so I had to charge her also," he said. "I could not exclude her at the time from being a participant of it."

I will not post the rest of the article, but it is worse than you can imagine:

3. I can't help but wonder...
The mind boggles so much at this, that every alternative seems more likely. Hospital staff, mistaken diagnosis, heck - even the police themselves. It's just unfathomable otherwise...

4. I guess abstinence training and birth control wasn't for them.
They followed the Christian right wing doctrine that all conceived children should be born.

Yes, this is sick. But the right wing theocrats will force more of this action as they continue to value fetuses UP UNTIL the moment they are born. Then they lose total interest in the born child.

6. Something like this happened not terribly far from where I grew up
probably 18-20 years ago. It was a stranger and a 1 month old baby girl. As you can imagine, her ability to have children in the future was destroyed by the crime.

There isn't a hell dark enough for these people.

8. Two things:
1. Once again, we can see that rape is NOT a sex crime. Not when newborns and 80-year olds get raped. It is purely a violent crime and a human abuse and should be treated as such.

2. Some people should NEVER, EVER have kids. Just because they CAN doesn't mean they should. I think these people should be subject to mandatory sterilization and forbidden to EVER be alone in the company of babies or children under 18 again. And THAT is too damn nice. After that, they should burn in Hell.

9. Before we condemn Jonathan Goodrum and Kristina Sawyer to Hell...
...two probably insignificant points from the article:

The investigation led to the child's parents, Nanney said, and there was no indication that any hospital worker was involved in the incident.

"Based on the investigation, we ruled out everyone but the mom and the dad," Nanney said.

Now, in America we have this thing called Trial by Jury. What it means is that before we can say they should burn in hell forever they get to have their day in court. A jury of their peers (that's the portion of us that have NOT already condemned them to hell, by the way) will review the evidence and arguments and if they believe, beyond reasonable doubt that they committed the crimes then I'd feel a little more comfortable drawing and quartering them.

Wouldn't you?

Hell, the mother was only charged because they couldn't "exclude her from being part of it", yet.

What's the use of fighting for truth and justice if you blurt out eternal condemnations based on the accusation of criminal behavior?

PB

11. So who is fighting for 'truth and justice'? Certainly not me.
Truth is one thing.
Something tells me those tears were not caused by a thermometer.
Justice is a Mack truck up daddy's ass.
And I will volunteer to drive it.

Sorry, but some things just light me up.

12. What you said...

The questions are:
a) was the baby raped? OK, probably from the sound of it, but are there any other explainations for it's injuries?
b) could it have been anyone else? The hospital says no, but I've seen too many "internal inquiries" to believe them on face value - I'd want proof, if it was my case.

Now, it sounds like the parent(s) did it, but remember things like "innocent until proven guilty"? The US used to be based on that principal, and it would be nice if DU was.

16. I agree with your post, this story just sounds too weird to be true...
I just cannot imagine a young Father doing this, and definitely not a brand new Mother letting it happen.

Just sounds like somebody's sick and overactive imagination.

Hurts to think about, but it does happen. Once, when I was a VERY young Pentecostal (HEH), a woman came to talk to my church about her horrible life and the story of overcoming it. She'd caught her then husband french kissing their 3-month-old, and once she caught him unawares with a camera. She showed us the picture. This, of course, was before the days of Photoshop. There have been numerous other cases. Scumbag fathers doing this kind of thing to newborns is nothing new, even though it *is* too much for the mind to handle.

edit: 3-month-old, not 3-yr-old. *SHUDDER*

20. Years ago when I lived in Norfolk
A Navy Petty Officer was convicted of raping his 3 month old daughter. His wife actually caught him in the act. Whether or not you can imagine it, this kind of evil does exit.

15. Don't Condemn Before Conviction
I read that original story and it left me with the distinct impression that there was no actual proof that the father had been the rapist. There seems to be no evidence at all against the mother. The father wasn't caught in the act of harming the child. Wouldn't the baby have screamed and drawn the attention of hospital staff? The hospital, to protect itself from liability, would have a big motivation to blame any injury on the parents.

If true, it is horrible, but I'd wait until a jury finds enough evidence to convict before condemning the couple to eternal damnation.

17. I am a Law and Order guy. But I have spent enough time around
Maternity wards to believe there is substance to this.

I hope I am wrong and there is some other logical explanation for this sick s**t.

But I would bet large that it was looney Daddy what done it. And Mumma watched. Never underesimate the power and vision of nurses.

And welcome to Crazyville, justinaforjustice.

21. Look, I'm not defending these people by any means...
If they are guilty, throw the book at 'em. :scared:

But if they are guilty, they are guilty not because of any "Christian right-wing doctrine" (how do WE know why they had this baby?) and they are guilty NOT because they are "redneck mongrels" (is everyone in Tennessee assumed to be a "redneck mongrel"?)

Please. Let's restrict ourselves to condemning the behavior and deploring the people responsible as individuals. Let's not throw our opinions of the Christian right wing, or our geographic prejudices, into it. It's no better than saying all gay people are unfit to be parents.

Years ago, in college, I was a working for a professor that was studying the formation of prisoner labor unions within the Ohio corrections system. As a researcher, I was given full access to the prisoner files at the Ohio Parole Board (which is where all files were kept at that time), including the crimes the prisoners were incarcerated for.

I saw more convictions for rape of a child/infant than I ever imagined. It crossed all lines of race, city/country geography, etc.

I still think of it to this day.
