A victory for the Shadow family
Edited on Mon May-15-06 06:59 AM by shadowknows69
Spoke to my stepson last night, who was thinking of joining the military, and he's apparently reconsidered for the time being at least. Gave us an opportunity to reinforce that decision too because I told him of some of the horror stories I've been hearing in my cab. Now we just have to pray the warmongering chimp doesn't draft him.

<edit> BTW thanks again from Mrs. Shadow and I for everyone that answered the original thread and offered help.

1. Thank God! I bet you told him BushCo fails soldiers through:
Lack of armor, ignoring the opinions of the best and brightest, giveaways to Hallibuton and other war profiteers (including individual senators, representatives and our vice president!), allowing Halliburton to serve our military contaminated food and water and get away with it, torture policies which will haunt our military for generations, failure to provide adequate physical and mental health care services upon their return to the states, stop loss (a type of draft) where soldiers are forced to serve three rotations, hiding their bodies when they arrive back home in the belly of a cargo plane, lack of oversight and accountability of the Pentagon, and depleted uranium, just for some examples.

2. I was going to
Amazingly he decided this himself. Must have smelled the BS. He's a smart kid. I just got to reinforce it by telling him how many unhappy and wounded soldiers I've been meeting.
