It's Not Just the Phone Records and the NSA Spying
that makes me feel so unfree anymore.

It's also all the loss of privacy from computers and how all of our most private and personal things are now out there on databases. And anyone can just pull up everything about our whole lives. Our medical records, our public records, our bank records - its all just out there.

I think after we have lost all privacy over our personal information that finding out our telephone records are being sold to the government probably doesn't seem like that big a deal.

I don't know how to get my feeling of privacy back.

1. Guess what, your medical records, family history, everything is...........
....now the business of NSA. I don't understand where some people can't make the connection between Nazi Germany 1939 and the US 2006 or even the book "1984" and the US today. Both apply very well to the hell we are living today.

2.  You don't.

Until we have Actual privacy. It's too late to go back to the illusion.

6. Probably not. That's how crazy all of this is.
They know when I call my Mom - but gun owners have refused to give over their records. Anyway that is how it seems in this state. The NRA is still a really powerful force here in Missouri. And I think most of those guys are really against government.

7. that's a hoot-- the NRA is deluding themselves if they think their records
aren't already compromised.

As if being rabid gun enthusiasts is an immunity challenge on Survivor.

9. Oh probably.
I remember when I was in college and the only list we had to worry about was the FBI if we got photgraphed at some big peace rally.

If I had any idea what would happen to our privacy back then I would have had a heart attack. Me and my picket sign would have been working overtime.

Now I just kind of take it all in stride. I have no idea what to do.

10. NNN0LHI, all registered gun owners are well known to the gov..............
....already and have been for years now. Nothing new there. I'm sure those who refuse to register their guns are even better known by the government because they are labeled "skinheads" even if they do keep all their hair.

12. If they have enough information in a database
They can effectively read your mind. That's what ad agencies have been trying to do since...forever I guess.

It's the Information Age for a reason.
