link Jefferson's alleged crime to Cunningham, and it was suggested that he "step down" due to the allegations.

You are right They are trying to establish equal opportunity villains.

And, I really hate to say it, but I sincerely hope that most Democrats were kept out of the money loop enough that they were not able to commit the same kinds of crimes as the Abramoff group (and others, I'm sure).
