What's with gas prices going up again?
Last week, they seemed to have dropped about 5-10 cents.

Now they're back up again. What gives?

1. Oil prices jumped right back up, just starting to slide down to about
70 bucks a barrel.

13. Our gas hit $3.35 a few weeks ago and hasn't dropped a single cent
since then. This is the cheapest in my area, except for Costco. Don't know what they pay there, probably $3.25-3.30.

If you're still paying under $3.00, quit complaining, lol.

7. It's the other "New Pearl Harbor".
It'll get Congress to drill for oil in their own backyards. It'll whip Americans into starting yet another war. It'll create a scene where methanol is readily accepted as an alternative fuel rather than spending the resources to actually become independent of combustive energy conversion.

9. Ours was up to 2.799, I think. Then dropped back to 2.599
then went back up to 2.659 and now back to 2.619. All within really a few days.
I'm fortunate in that I have a station near me that is always the las to go up. So if the other stations are higher than that one it means prices are about to jump. So I stop and get gas right then.

11. You expected it to continue to go down?
As with the price of oil, it goes up and down like a yo-yo.
The long term trend seems to be more up then down though.

12. Two steps forward, one step back
They are NOT going to get much lower through the summer. The reason behind it is not only the spot futures but the continued slide of the dollar in world currency markets, a slide that is expected to continue today.

The only relief will be just before midterms, if then.
