2- Isn't this a standing army? Where will they be quartered--in our homes? Isn't this one of the things the original American Revolution was revolting about?

5- Perhaps some of us had a Spring Break in our youth at the Mexican border. Remember how you could walk across with a mere, "U.S. citizen"? After 9-11, even if you are blond, blue-eyed, and English-speaking-only, you now have to produce a photo I.D. that gets typed into another one of those data bases. With long, useless lines. Next up, passports, national I.D.(s).

6- There will be a baby boom from Guardsmen marrying illegal Mexicans. The down time at the clubs ought to be fun.

7- I really think this is about, not only galvanizing the wingnut base, but distracting away from KKKarl's business. And distracting away from the Enron jury this week.
