You Want to Stop Illegal Immigration from the South |

Then let’s stop enabling the ruling class in those countries and start supporting the people. If the US had pursued a policy of human and economic rights for all the people in the countries of Mexico, Central America, and South America, rather than enabling the ruling classes, then the citizens of those countries would not be forced to flee the repression and poverty that have been forced upon them.

some of those self-same countries (Panama for two years & Guatemala for a little over two years) I can say that U.S. policy has for many years been one of supporting Corporate Fascism. I do not use that term as empty name-calling, I mean the actual dictionary-defined term: 'unions' controlled by the government, open bribery of government officials by multi-nationals, etc. This isn't secondhand assumption - I used to go to school with the children of the Corporate Fascists.

4. But--wouldn't that be Communist? |

Every southern leader who tries to help the people is immediately attacked as a "Brutal Thug"--by forces on the Right & the Usual Suspects at DU. Lopez Obrador, frontrunning candidate for President of Mexico, has seen his lead narrowed. The opposition's tactics? "He's the next Chavez!"
The US government has been all to happy to fund (really) brutal military governments in the south--as long as they are "anti-Communist."
