Look, People . . the fact that we're even talking about this woman's tears |
|
shows that the corporate message delivery and mental environment control system is in place and working well. Anything that's like a soap opera will automatically trump all other stories, because that's what the masses will watch. Even a bleeding catastrophe quickly gives up its "human interest" angles, as the minions of the "press" probe into the feelings and crushed hopes of newly-minted teevee faces.
As long as the lower chakras are more powerful than the upper, we're screwed as a nation.

1. I can't understand what the big deal is: one woman cries now |
|
but if he's confirmed, hundreds of thousands will cry later. Simple as that!

its just too depressing to think about all those horrible wars & scandals, and there's nothing i can do about it anyway. i have my type 2 diabetes to worry about.
i think i'll quote a TV show's catchphrase to express my feelings!
"O no you dit'nt!"

it out now. I've read Neil Postman on these matters, but you've opened another door for me.

25. Yeah, I noticed as soon as I started on his bio. I think it takes a |

certain amount of courage to confront the dire truths he was facing, and still decide to go on fighting the good fight.

You can beg people to talk about the important issues, like the mentally retarded young man or the strip search or the ammonia in the water, but it'll always be whatever's on the teevee. Part of the reason we can't get a message out.

8. Funny how just last week the MSM was telling us that the Alito |
|
and Abramoff stories were barely registering with the public. Then, Alito's wife cries for a few seconds and you'd think that it was 9/11 all over again.
Why is that?

Gets some people here all fired up, too.
Too bad. We see that the media is helping the Scalitos (and their admin. handlers) in manipulating the public. If other people can't see it, too bad. I've got my eyes wide open.
As for the Abramoff case registering,... We've just scratched the surface of that cesspool.

17. Of course the Labor movement immediately comes to mind, but look what |
|
happened to the big unions: charismatic leaders, corruption at the top, exploitation of the workers all over again. It points to the bigger issue, which is: can people govern themselves? Plato said No, at least not directly. The problem now is: Who will be our wisest and best? Dick Cheney or Dennis Kucinich? The lower chakras want Dick.

19. Mrs. Alito in tears was the story of the day |
|
MSM loves an emotional crying fit more than a substantive debate over the nominees positions. Years from now, more people will remember her crying than any other aspect of this hearing.

20. I'm gonna cry when the Dems help seat this FASCIST ! |
|
Can I get on TV?
"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."--- Senator Paul Wellstone
In EVERY case, "Barriers to Trade" and "Restrictions on Corporations" were created to protect something valuable!
The Democratic Party is a BIG TENT, but there is NO ROOM for those who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the EXPENSE of LABOR and the POOR.
