Backdoor found in Diebold voting machines.

Major Security Hole In Voting Machines
The high-tech voting machines that many states bought for millions of dollars after the 2000 presidential election still have major security problems that leave them vulnerable to tampering during elections.

In fact, officials in a few states with upcoming primary elections issued urgent directives this week regarding potential security risks in their Diebold Election Systems machines. Basically, the touch screen systems allow any person with access to a voting terminal the ability to completely change the system code or ballot file without leaving evidence of the change.

1. Yeah, found in 2004

But are you aware that to accomplish this hack, you have to reboot the system? That's not likely to go unnoticed on election day.

And it's a vulnerability, not a damn "back door", which again implies malicious intent.

2. Gee.....I wonder if all those machines malfunctioning has anything to do
with "rebooting the system?" Malicious intent is EXACTLY what the repuke party has. What will you say in November when the psycho's and repuke congress jerks poll numbers are at 20% and they end up winnng? Will you attibute that to 80% of the country have another "Morality Attack?" :eyes:

3. You think manual systems are infallible?
First of all, you're conflating normal unforseen vulnerabilities with deliberate fraud - the experts who found this during Maryland's inspection described it as an unlikely means of attack ... and I agree with them.

What did I say when representatives of both major parties in NYC refused to count 50,000 valid paper ballots cast when our antiquated mechanical voting machines malfunctioned - mostly in poor and minority neighborhoods? I called a lot of journalists whose names you'd recognize - and none of 'em minded, because Mark Green was the beneficiary. No, it's not just "repuke"s who lack integrity.

Like it or not, when the emperor has no clothes, I'll continue to point out his nudity.

4. Quit ruining all of the fun. Facts can really screw up a good
conspiracy.
