Happened upon an old spy movie called Sneakers from 1992
NSA / eaves dropping on Americans. Kind of scary what the special box can do. Anyone ever watch it?

I only saw the last hour, but it looked pretty good and there sure were some big names in it.

Ben Kingsley, Robert Redford, Sidney Poitier, Dan Aykroyd, James Earl Jones

Made me wonder if our govt gets all its big ideas from movies.

4. Sneakers? Heck yeah!
You must not have been a geek in the early '90s if you missed that.

Great early popularization of the importance of cryptography, which is still a pet peeve of mine that the subject isn't more popular.

5. Yep seen it several times
The scene where Redford and Kingsley meet for the first time in years is one of my all time favorites.

9. My favorite scene (no spoiler)
...is the "high-tech method" the burglar used for getting the door open.

10. I hate the "blind date" scene
Come on. Couldn't she have just started talking about taking him on a trip abroad instead of that corny-ass "You know what word I'd love to hear you say? Passport." line she actually used?

(For those of you who have not had the opportunity to see this movie...Robert Redford's organization was trying to get The 40 Year Old Virgin, who had access to the super secret secured area they were trying to get into, to say the phrase "My voice is my passport; identify me" one word at a time so they could piece it together and use the tape to get past the voice-activated lock. Uhh...guys, if you've got a place that's THAT super secret and secure, there's going to be a huge motherfucker with a gun sitting at the door checking badges.)

11. Excellent movie! Very fun!
Even older, I think, is "No Way Out". Even Kevin-Costner-haters can't help but dig that movie.

Good times - good times!

12. No Way Out has the best twist ending EVER. A B Minus kind of movie, with
an A ++++ ending that makes it a classic to me.

I like Costner but he's kind of a stiff, as an actor. Works okay in some movies, in others, not so much.

21. Right. He was also a very sexy neighbor in "Passionfish" and
a psychopathic pimp in "L.A. Confidential" and has always done an excellent job as an actor in a bazillion movies, and I was so pleased to see him cast in "Murrow." http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000657/

15. I generally have zero recollection of a movie after a day or 2
but do recall that I did see it although I remember nothing at all -about- it except that River Phoenix was in it. How weird is that?...
