Is this grounds for a class-action lawsuit vs BellSouth?
Three months ago mr. sinnic had to return to his island in the Caribbean because of health problems. He just couldn't work anymore and I was really having a problem supporting him, so he went home to be with his extended family.

To call him from north central Florida was costing $2.71 PER MINUTE!!
I went CRAZY when I got the first month's bill for like more than $300 in long-distance calls!
After consulting with BellSouth and cutting all extraneous crap from my way underused "Complete Choice" local service, I was also put on one of BellSouth's international calling plans. Now, for a fee of $5.95 per month, my calls to mr. sinnic are billed at 34 CENTS/minute.

In other words, the $2.71 was pure gouging! You know they are still making money at 34 cents (otherwise they wouldn't offer it, right?); those calls probably cost them a nickel or something to put through.

I was recently awarded some BS "certificates" from Western Union because they had been sued for overcharging for transactions out of the country and were forced to give people like me, who had sent money during the period of overpricing, like 1998-2001, something like that, certificates for discounts on future WU transactions.

How does one organize something like that? (and hopefully the settlement would be for more than lousy "certificates.")

Thanks for any advice, I might not be able to check in to this thread for a couple of hours but will be appreciative of whatever anybody can tell me.
