What good are these things? Aside from making some biometric company rich and giving identity thieves one more avenue to rip us honest citizens off?

3. There go his poll numbers |
29% is going to look pretty darn good soon. If there's one thing DUers and Freepers can agree on, It's that WE DON'T WANT NO DAMN BIOMETRIC ID CARD!

..."9-11" and "terra" and the freeps will wet their little diapers and line up to get them implanted.

11. I had to check IDs for I-9 compliance, and |
forever sympathize with those that still do.
I was handed ID, I'd photocopy it, look at it, have no idea what to do with it, and file it away. Legal or illegal immigrant, I had no way of telling.
You want businesses to obey the law and not hire dirt-cheap immigrant labor? Take away their ready-made and all too compelling excuse: There's no way to verify that ID isn't fake, and the stuff that's out there is both too diverse to allow a non-expert to spot fraud, and too easily forged.
I used to be a "oh no, the number of the beast, I don't want secure ID because I think I'll be monitored" person; I've changed my mind.
